Use this thread to ask questions, give feedback and talk about the battle in general. I'd prefer very little OOC in the battle thread.

Liu Feng is in Cheng Du right now, which is very far from Xin Ye.
Shu has no idea that the surprise attack is happening, and Wei's forces haven't even arrived yet. How did Liu Feng traverse all the land between Cheng Du and Xin Ye and foretell that there would be an attack on Xin Ye without any knowledge of it?

The original set up for this battle from Sam was this:
"Sound the war horns! I'm retaliating to the Shu attack on Chang'an by striking for their jibblets, Xiahou Dun's leading a small attack force to seize Xinye, with Kongming's departure. He'll assumingly be backed up by Cao Ren this week end."
Thus it's quite simple, you and Sam allowed O.O.C. knowledge of Zhuge Liang being in Cheng Du influence a I.C. decision.
It's against the rules, I shouldn't have allowed this battle in the first place.
So basically, I'm asking you to 'roll with it'. Zhuge Liang is inside the fort expecting an attack at some point (though he doesn't suspect that it's tonight), and Liu Feng arrived to deliver a message.
If you didn't want a battle, why ask for a skirmish? Otherwise, if you don't want to 'roll with it', then the battle scenario won't be allowed.
We can set up another battle scenario that isn't limited by O.O.C. knowledge and singularity of existence and do things properly.

I have to agree with Mikey on this one, if I'm taking a step back and looking at both sides.
I would agree, a surprise attack is a valid maneuver, and it not the attack I have a problem with; it's the reason why the attack was launched in the first place.
Sam mentioned in his pm that he knew Zhuge Liang wasn't in the city. I would have to say, though, that figuring out where player's aren't and attacking there isn't really a viable, reasonable explanation for the assault.
I think the current situation is fine; Wei's assault force vs. Zhuge Liang and Liu Feng. Wei still has the upper-hand, so I think we can all agree that, for the sake of the site, we can continue the battle as is.

In my defence do you think that Cao Cao wouldn'ytl learn of Kongming's departure? They're spies literally EVERYWHERE, in a war period. If you had a problem with my OOC knowledge of Zhuge leaving, why not call me on that before starting the battle?
I'm okay with Zhuge Liang being able to execute such a plan, to feint like that. But I'm NOT okay with Liu Feng, Sun Wukonging his way over China to be present in the battle, with no prior 'I'm leaving for Xinye'.
I was planning on attacking Xinye with Josh anyway (see our thread where he's joining me) but due to his absense I have to proceed on my own. That is why I decided to attack now. The in-game reasons for the assault are yet to be explained because we were going to be explaining them in and after the battle (in character), it wouldn't make sense to prepare for a surprise attack in game, as it would ruin the surprise. Zhuge Liang's absense is not the reason why Cao Cao wanted to attack Xinye in-game.
If you think I'm god modding for attacking a city which you left, and I have no doubt spies would have reported behind the scenes, then how does it make it right that you're god modding a counter-move? Why not just call me on it, when I asked for the battle?
I'm still going through with the battle though and trounce this little misunderstanding.

Alright, I've had quite enough of you Brian. For breaking 2 Site Rules and arguing with the admins I'm suspending both of your accounts for 5 days 1 Day (decreased on the account of your apology). Hopefully in that time you'll realize that you've disrespected and treated me like shit through this entire situation, and instead of trying to compromise or resolve the issue, you've just been acting like a petty child who cries when he doesn't get his way.
I have no idea where you get off treating me like that.
After being able to think about the battle for some time I've come to a conclusion:
Zhuge Liang will be allowed in the battle, but Liu Feng will not be.
Because of the nature of the attack, there will not be any Shu Kingdom troops involved. That said, this won't be the last skirmish of Xin Ye. The next battle will be at the actual city where Shu can defend their territory properly.

Okay, I was told not to defend myself here but I can't just sit quietly and be excluded from my first attempt at a battle.
I've never ever been in an actual battle against other players on an RP site (only against NPCs), and the first time I try to participate I'm barred for no real reason. Liu Feng "sunwukong'd it over to Xin Ye from Cheng Du"? Sure, he was in Cheng Du, but -so was Zhuge Liang-. All generals are involved in RPs at home, but there is no reason story-wise why they are simultaneous with this skirmish. I think it is quite fair for me to say that Liu Feng left Cheng Du to bring a message to Zhuge Liang. I don't see any posts in Ru Nan by Xiahou Dun declaring his intent to leave either...
I was -going- to write a post detailing -why- he left Cheng Du weeks ago, in the Cheng Du thread, but I thought I'd post in the battle thread first so that I could still participate. Apparently not.
I'm completely inexperienced playing Liu Feng of all possible available Shu generals, I have 500 cavalry and no kingdom troops...I will have no effect on your basically inevitable victory in this skirmish. Honestly, suck it up.
If my participation is going to cause such huge fights that people get banned/suspended, I'll back out. I don't want to cause problems. But it doesn't bode well for interest in this site when new players are rejected from participating just because some veterans complained.
EDIT - Already deleted my post in the battle thread. But seriously guys.

Liu Feng your point is completely valid and makes sense, and I commend you for defending yourself even though a staff member said not to.
Sam agreed to a compromise and you can show up at the bottom of the map traveling from Xin Ye to the outpost to deliver a message to Zhuge Liang. Justin, the battle mod, will decide when that occurs. But it will either be next turn or the turn after and no later.
Thank you for not letting me bar you out for no real reason. The reason Brian was suspended was for his own conduct, not your fault at all.
Trust me when I say that in the future, 'Surprise' attacks will be treated with higher sense delicacy and originization.

Seriously, all of you. There's no point arguing when we KNOW I'm going to win this, conquer Shu, overthrow Wei, and make Sun Quan my wife. So let's play nice, kthxbai

I apologize for getting pissed off about it. I'll leave everything to my fellow Wei-bies and Justin. I'm all for having Liu Feng in the battle after his rebuttal. Seems like battles returning has brought out the worst in me I feel so Sagas right now.
