Does he ever shut up? Miserable old bastard.
- Guo Huai, about Yu Bao.
Yu Bao, laughing after Guo Huai got told he had a lung infection.
Name: Yu Bao
Age: 101
Gender: Male
Style:Original
Residence: Tianshui
Personality:
Yu Bao has always been very moody and generally horrible. However, over the past decade, he has grown in to an even more grouchy, miserable old man who likes to moan about absolutely everything and anything. The presence of him on the warfront has turned him sour and he is now incredibly awkward. Especially after Guo Huai becoming the new prefect of Tianshui, he disapproves of anything and everything that Guo Huai decides and refuses to fulfill his duties to the best he can, just to piss Guo Huai off. Due to the mans age and duty served to the kingdom of Wei, Guo Huai lets this slide. Besides, Yu Bao is a fairly intelligent man, but doesn't like to suggest things. He is generally a useless officer.
Appearance:
Yu Bao is a modest 5''5, shrunken and unable to walk properly.He has snow white hair, on both his scalp and face. Yu Bao's eyes a dark brown, and his face is lined with tons of wrinkles. His face has developed a permanent scowl, which he enjoys using almost all the time. He used to be of an average build, yet over the past few decades it has slightly deteriorated due to age. He is still physically fit, but has a bit of a gut now. His eyesight is failing, so he tends to squint all the time.
Apparel/Armour:
He usually just wears a simple blue and white robe. In battle, which he would never participate in anymore, he would have worn simple silver armor.
Weapon(s):
Yu Bao uses a sword cane, of which he has not given a name. He says that naming weapons is a ''imbecilic and antiquated practice, that undermines the authentic point of war equipment''. It is average in length and is made out of light metal, as to help him make full use of it without knocking himself out. He is old, after all (;
History:
Yu Bao has served Cao Cao for a long time. He originally joined the Wei forces during the campaign against Lu Bu. He was born in to a rich, high class family that was renowned throughout the local Xu area. Despite the length of time he has actually served the King of Wei, he has always been a very mediocre officer that never really reached anywhere significant in his time. His most notable achievement is when he suggested the campaign against some bandits just outside of the city of Xu, where he was placed during the Northern Campaign.
Due to his miserable nature, many officers refused to work with him, so Yu Bao always got sent to cities that didn't need much work. This, in turn, made Yu Bao even more irritable and he was moved a total of 11 times during his career in Wei.
Cao Cao transferred Yu Bao to Tianshui personally, after he heard the older man had been complaining about never being on the war front. As a way to shut him up, Cao Cao plonked him straight in the middle of the war zone, much to Yu Bao's anger. Now, all the older man does is complain.
Yu Bao was actually about to formally retire from fighting, when all of a sudden Xiahou Yuan was killed. Due to Tianshui not having a proper prefect, it was almost certain that someone would be assigned to the job. Being nosey, Yu Bao thought against retiring, and to his joy a younger man, Guo Huai, was appointed for the role after his small achievement in the battle of Hanzong.
During the time, Guo Huai was bed ridden for at least a month, during which Yu Bao thoroughly enjoyed himself by making large amounts of noise and arguing with the new prefect every chance he got. He dislikes Guo Huai, and Guo Huai dislikes him. However, they both greatly enjoy winding each other up, so they force themselves to put up with each other just for the self satisfaction of pissing the other off.
He is the ripe ripe age of 101, and of course loves to brag about how old he is constantly. Yu Bao loves commenting on how ridiculous the new equipment to fight is, and loves complaining about how everything has gone to shit. Of course, he is still kicking and unfortunately for those around him, isn't showing any signs of dying in the near future.
