This is a briefing on how I will personally rule and what you can expect from serving Wei.
First of all, welcome to the Kingdom of Wei.
We still control the Emperor, so take that for what it's worth to you in your writing.
This Kingdom has a vast land mass compared to Shu and Wu and as such we have a lot more resources yet cannot concentrate them in one area so easily. We have the tribes and foreign kingdoms to the north and west as well as Shu and Wu to keep mastery of.
So when receiving rank and position don't be disheartened if I place you in control of a city on the northern frontier far from Shu and Wu 'in the back corner' as it were, the northern frontier is vastly important to the enhanced wealth and security we currently have over Shu and Wu. These cities in the back corner need defending too should our ties with foreign empires deteriorate, which I won't intentionally let happen.
Everyone no matter what the history of the character will start with the basic rank in their chosen specialist area, with basic pay, this is both in the personal interest and a system I have in place based on merits. So no one who joins as a big named character simply jumps ahead of the pack with not a jot of accomplishments in game.
With everybody starting at a equal level I can moniter your accomplishments and merits in the acts of your character and writing ability, those who try harder, and are active, dedicated to the site and succeed in carrying out orders will receive promotions to benefit them. Those that don't will linger at the bottom rank and will only raise slowly.
There is an option of two specialist areas you can follow, one military-based, one civil-based. The military based one would have your character in the career of a general, this is best for people who want to focus on our armed forces and battle strategy, drilling, arming and enhancing our combat efficiancy and defences. A military career is battle-based if you are in the military side of my personnel you are more likely to see battle.
A civil officer is the most rewarding as you will be required to build our foundations and expand our economy, keep the very kingdom on it's feet. It will have you renovatting cities and enhancing agriculturural works. A civil based career will not be cut off from the military as some civil officials may choose to enhance productivity in the manufacturing of war engines and weapons enhancing the growth and providing essential supplies. You can also still advise on the topic of war there is no restrictions there and you could even one day see battle.
Kingdom benefitting tasks within role play that are self-initiated will help you all the more, if you have a proposal don't be afraid to let me know about it. It will enhance the favour you receive from Cao Cao if you ask conduct these without any push to do so, especially if it is within the role play world. I don't mind leaking plans into the game outside of the council as long as it is in conversation, as long as it isn't specific. Specifics are for the council only.
Loyalty and devotion from your character will be well rewarded. Being active in the role play will be further rewarded by myself and the staff. This is a role play site, remember to take part!
Good first impressions are not a myth, role play well, put your heart into your character, be them. I expect good devotion to the game from historical characters and will be very pleased to see them played with respect.
All that said, if you've read this far, then congratulations. You've completed your introductary task.
If you have any questions at any point in the game, feel free to ask. Happy role playing.
