Name: Sun Fang
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Style: Original
Residence: Jian An
Personality:
Sun Fang is loud and charismatic and he always has to have the last word. Fang is very laid back by nature but when he infers a personal slight or a wider injustice he heats right up and can often act recklessly. Fang can be lazy, however, when working within a group situation this tendency is overruled by his need to be in charge. When this isn’t possible he either acts as a lone wolf or if he really respects his commander will fill a second in command role. He is a good leader while he keeps his focus and he has an ability to inspire loyalty in his men. Fang has a habit for short term obsessions that can take over and briefly make him very motivated; however he soon burns out and goes back to normal. A bit of an adrenaline junky his not scared of taking risks but this is tempered slightly when he is in command of men, knowing this as a fault means that he listens to his more cautious colleagues. Relatively intelligent Sun Fang is quick to understand things but rarely comes up with fresh ideas.
Appearance:
Just below average height Sun Fang has no fat on his body. He has broad shoulders but isn’t overly muscular. Fang’s head is small in relation to his body, almost circular. His eyes are a deep brown and his most attractive feature. They are made to standout by somewhat sunken cheekbones. His jaw line is very prominent and is often adorned by stubble that grows very quickly. His teeth aren’t perfect but better than most people of the era. He has a scar between his right ear and jaw which is kept covered with long brown hair.
Apparel/Armour:
Sun Fang has lived over half his life as a fighter so he feels more comfortable in some kind of armour. Only one luxury is added outside of battle: a red cloak with his emblem, a howling wolf, on the back. However he has always relied more on speed than brute strength so he wears little more than necessary. As such he wears light armour. His helmet is custom made, modelled after a wolf’s face. Two fangs run down either side of his face.
Weapon(s):
Short sword.
History
Sun Fang never knew his parents, instead he was bought up as an orphan on the streets of Bei Ping. He didn’t even know his name, instead he was known simply as Fang. At the age of 15 and the outbreak of the Yellow Turban rebellion he ran away taking with him some of the other orphans and his friend from the nobility, Bao Huan. Although they initially planned to join the Yellow Turbans after coming across a massacred village they changed their minds.
Instead they joined the Han army where Fang was given the role of a minor officer under Sun Jian. They took part in several battles together and Jian saved Fang’s life when they scaled the walls of Wan Castle. After this they went their separate ways with Fang’s small group of remaining orphans, and a few more soldiers who felt loyalty to the young officer, going back home. They joined Gongsun Zan’s army against Yellow Turban remnants. Here they met Liu Bei and his brothers; however they had more a relationship of mutual respect then friendship.
After this they heard news that Sun Jian was again recruiting men to fight against Dong Zhuo. So Fang and his men made the long journey South again. However they did so without Fang’s old friend Bao Huan whose father was now a ranking officer in Gongsun Zan’s army and so he stayed after getting promoted. Fang and Jian met on good terms with Jian promoting Fang to the rank of captain. During the campaign Fang served with distinction and even saved Jian’s life in battle.
After the coalition floundered war broke out between the warlords and Yuan Shu, Sun Jian and Gongsun Zan wanted to form an alliance. Fang was chosen by the southern lords to go north as Bao Huan was now one of Gongsun Zan’s most prominent officers and advisors. The alliance was formed and as a sign of good faith Fang and his unit became men of Gongsun Zan. While in Bei Ping Fang finally found out about his family. His father had been an adventurer who had long disappeared in to the mists of history. However his mother had been from what had been an insignificant tribe to the South and travelled North with her love, Fang’s father. She had died in child birth however she still had much family. Knowing now that his old friend, the now deceased, Sun Jian was a relative of his the newly named Sun Fang decided to travel south to join the fledging faction of Sun Ce.
