Name: Zhou Daiyu (周黛玉) or ‘Dai’ affectionately
Age: 30
Gender: Female
Style: Original
Residence: Chang’an.
Personality:
Daiyu is a calm, collective woman with a generally positive outlook. She is not a great lover of battles or war but enjoys a fiery argument, exchange of words or heated debate. Although only 30, she has a good experience of what it takes to please people and uses her charisma and persuasion to win people over. It is quite difficult to annoy her as she tends to shrug off personal insults, but can become angry at insults thrown to friends. She believes in telling the truth and will give it when her opinion is asked whether it be a simple disagreement between friends or a diplomatic matter between rival states. She can be relied upon with secrets between friends and has a general sense of honour but if she discovers something that might be detrimental to her or who she serves she will immediately tell someone or ask for assistance in resolving the matter. When not being all official, she enjoys calm scenery such as forests or rivers but can also find solace in a bustling city that she has been a part in creating. Her interest in men died down after her previous husband was killed. She also has a great love of white horses and finds them much better to their more hued relatives. Many people have told her that her soft-spoken voice and innocent looking smile can instill calm and tranquility in people, but also provide confidence depending on the situation.
Appearance:
Her hair, when let down can reach to the lower of her back, but it is usually worn up in a large bun, as shown in the picture. Daiyu has a slim body type, although some might consider her athletic, she doesn’t think so. She is around 5’6”inches (171.18cm) high, so is of around an average height.
Apparel/Armour:
In Battle, she dons silver armour. She does not wear a helmet, but wears light silver plate armour, covering her chest and runs down to just about her elbows, she wears thick black and red gloves that run from her elbow covered by no armour. She also wears the armour on her legs, the armour only goes up to just below her bum, and a metal skirt-type flows from the breastplate to cover what isn't by her leg armour. The armour isn't all ajoined, but is seperate pieces she attaches to herself because she is quite small and has speed, she likes to have agility, and would be restricted by the armour if it was all attached. When she wears her armour, underneath she wears a quite thick bodysuit that reaches up to her neck. It is black in colour and is made of cotton.
Outside of battle, she wears elegant robes that reach down to her ankles which consists of a dress-type red item of clothing that straps around her neck and covers her from chest to ankles (like the picture) but also wears a shawl-type item that she wears like a light coat, it covers her arms where the dress does not and falls down to cover her bum and has the design that appears in the above picture.
Weapon(s):
黑暗龙杀手 - Dark Dragon Slayer
Daiyu’s Jian sword is 30 inches (76cm) long and is relatively light-weight. Daiyu is not the strongest person so she prefers to rely on her agility, therefore the sword is more suited to slashing attacks rather than bludgeoning and is not suited for massive barrages of attacks or against someone using a particularly heavy wield weapon.
History:
Zhou Daiyu was born to a farming family in Xiapi and lived a community involved life when she was not aiding her family on the farm, whether she was trying to aid other people or just harassing people until they noticed her. When she was 15 she was married off to a relatively rich official and lived in what was essentially a manor residence. Her family did it because they became quite well-known, people would buy the farms produce and eventually they became quite rich themselves. After the death of her father in law, her husband took over. He fell to bribes and such, which he tried to hide from Daiyu, but she knew. For her own safety, she managed to get a tutor in sword fighting so if she ever came to negative effects from her husband’s actions, she could fight back. When she was 23, she received news that her husband had died but was not told how, though she believes it to be an assassination or some sort of small rebellion. After hearing the news, she packed up the small amount of her belongings and travelled to the south of the country, to Changsha, where she lived for a while and continued in her combat training. During a small riot in Changsha, Daiyu discovered she could get people to listen to her and was able to quell the rebellion and help relations between the families it occurred to, this is where people told her she had a knack for diplomacy, public speaking and probably politics. She had also experienced all this in Xiapi, when she looked back, but it never occurred to her that she was actually quite good at them. After this, she travelled for a little while, honing all her skills, until she eventually settled in Chang’an
