Yes, I am almost exactly copying my previous character, for two reasons. First, recycling is good for the environment. Second, I liked that character and didn't get to use him enough. Or I'm lazy, you decide.
Name: Sun Dao. "The Darkstar"
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Style: Original
Residence: No current place of residence.
Personality:
Sun Dao is a kind and reserved man; honest and straightforward when in conversation. One who prefers a diplomatic solution over militaristic responses Sun Dao does not hold grudges, and does not pass unfair judgment, he is a man of reason rather than emotion. This is a man who will commit himself fully to all his endeavors, who does not waver, and does not fear. To him there is no disgrace in defeat, no dishonor in retreat, for one must lose to learn to fix his faults.
Appearance:
Taller than the average man, Sun Dao has the build of a man who likes to stay in shape, physically and mentally. While pursuits of the mind take precedence, Sun Dao is a lightweight, lightly muscled man who long ago recognized that there will be times when he will be called upon to guard his own life. He has long, black hair that he prefers to keep pulled atop his head. Possessing a wardrobe that would suggest wealth, Dao appreciates finery, but does not flaunt. He carries himself like a man with a purpose, a friendly smile constantly upon his face.
Apparel/Armour:
Sun Dao prefers to avoid a fight if at all possible, but when one is expected, he is usually attired in armor made of hardened leather, covered in small, rectangular metal squares. His armor is always designed to allow the greatest possible range of movement, without being a burden. (While a duel with this character is highly unlikely, if not impossible, all armor will be explicitly stated and highly detailed in the initial post before a duel, as is my habit. So here, I leave only a basic guide to save myself time until that point.)
Weapon(s):
- Bow
- One-handed sword.
Physically conditioned and trained to defend himself with a blade, Dao is most proficient with a longer sword, and as such is usually always carrying one; though it is not his weapon of choice, neither is it the one with which he is most skilled.
Sun Dao has spent a large portion of his time since early childhood training with the bow, making this is his preferred weapon for those times when engaging in battle is impossible. He considers archery an art form, one which Dao believes no man can ever perfect, and he takes great pleasure in target practice, having developed great mastery in the form.
He specializes in a specific form of archery he adopted at a young age during a trip to the Korean peninsula. It involves firing a shorter arrow through half of a hollowed bamboo tube, in the bow. (Known as Pyunjun, the Korean Mini-Arrow). The smaller arrow is released at a higher velocity and spins in flight rather than oscillating. It gains greater penetration, but requires great skill and more time to load and fire properly.
But even archery is not his most powerful weapon. Sun Dao recognizes that the mind is a weapon of unlimited potential, and uses his skill in this area before any physical weapon.
History:
Sun Dao does not have much history that he shares with others (Because it is still a work in progress), but it is easy to see that he is a man who comes from a background of wealth and education. His family as rumor has it, were all killed, though the how and way of their deaths changes depending on the teller. Some say that they were executed for being on the wrong side of the warlord who ruled their area, while others say that they were killed when his home city was captured and sacked by an enemy army in the turbulent times of unrest that have been sweeping these lands for the past few decades. Some even speak of him being disowned by his family, disgraced and cast out while others claim that his family yet lives, and the various stories are all fabricated to confuse those attempting to learn of them.
The truth is, nobody knows Sun Dao's past, and while rumors abound he is more than content to let them be. Every story that is told, Sun Dao does not attempt to correct, and simply lets the rumors spread. All that is known is that Sun Dao is and has been for all his time serving X Kingdom (Whoever I join) he has been a capable administrator, rising to recognition by talent alone. He knows how to oversee soldiers, finances, and cities, and rumor has it he is an extremely capable strategist as well.

(From above) He spent many years in and around Korean lands, training with masters of this form of archery. Some suspect he may have even been born there. The tranquility he finds in practicing archery aids in his thought processes, as he finds that he is much more able to think over problems and really get to know information learned earlier, as archery has the tendency to clear his mind.
