Name: Ai Rui. "Baohulang/Guardian Wolf"
Age: 17.
Gender: Male
Style: Original
Residence: Luo Yang.
Personality:
Ai Rui is young and bold. He always speaks his mind even if it would lead him into trouble. Never one to slander, he merely speaks what he believes to be true. He is honest and blunt, sometimes causing him to behave in a disrespectful manner. He likes to befriend fighters so that he can have someone bail him out when he starts talking too big.
Ai Rui has a calm attitude and is always thinking and plotting. He always tried to find the chink in the armor no matter what the situation. He tries to find the best way to strike at his friends, in case they should betray him.
Ai Rui is slow to trust, but loyal to those he does befriend and would walk alongside them to his grave if it were needed.
Ai Rui is humble through everything. He does not see the acts he performs as anything spectacular, or even credible if matters weren't perfect.
Ai Rui is usually respectful to those he is not close to and holds an informal manner around those he considers friends, often foregoing proper names for nicknames and such.
Appearance:
Ai Rui stands at 5' 11" with a thin build. Weighing no more than 105 lbs. (if that) he prefers to avoid conflict whenever possible. His coarse, dark, wavy hair flows beautifully down his back past his shoulder blades. He has a narrow jawline and rounded chin with full cheeks and lips. His eyes are a piercing sapphire blue with thin, scarred eyebrows. He boasts a clean shave on his handsome face and bears a fondness for roses in his hair or clothes. His nose turns up slightly at the tip and his nostrils appear slightly flared.
Apparel/Armour:
Battle - When forced to battle, Ai Rui sets on basic lamellar armor over an orange fighting robe. He wears a golden metal headband with a rose under it under his a light helmet and a pair of leather gloves and boots.
Formal - When dressing formally, Ai Rui wears his orange silken robe with a silk purple and green sash, a silk and metal headdress to match (either orange or purple, never green). He wears silken gloves of white and embellished with a rose pattern purple and green boots. He always places a rose in his sash.
Casual - Ai Rui dresses similarly to to his formal wear by wearing his orange robe (as always), but replaces his purple-green sash in favor of a solid purple one. His boots are also a solid purple and lack the embellishment of those he wears for formal affairs. He wears no globes and ties a black cloth headband around his head sticking a rose withing.
Weapon(s):
Ai Rui uses the twin hookswords passed down to him from his late father. He named them the bloody thorns (likely in effect with his strange fascination with roses). The hilt is wrapped in a white cloth with an orange silken scarf hanging from the one in his right hand. The spikes on the bottom of the hilts are designed to look like roses in bloom. The crescent blades around his hands are of a golden tinge and have a small resemblance to thorns. Rising along the steel blades is the design of a long writhing rose stem with thorns dripping blood.
History:
Ai Rui has grown up in a world rife with war. When the call to arms came against the Yellow Turbans his father, Ai Jin, marched. He fought bravely for the Han, only to see his efforts end in vain as Dong Zhuo rose to power. When Dong overtook the capital, Ai Jin led all of his children; Ai Shang, Ai Rui, Ai Mao, and Ai Mei; to the safety with his old friend Xaihou Yuan, and stood against Dong only to fall to Jia Xu's strategies. Ai Shang, being the oldest, joined the coalition against Dong Zhuo and he too fell in battle. Ai Mao perished the many slaughters of Dong Zhuo.
Ai Rui, now fifteen, left his younger sister behind and decided to forge his new path. He wanted to walk a path of peace and learning unlike his warrior brothers and father. Ai Rui had developed a slight fear of battle and nearly refused to join in the wars of the warlords. Instead he dedicated himself to learning and the people of Luo Yang.
Ai Rui cheered as he heard about the fall of Dong Zhuo but soon felt a somewhat hollow feeling having been unable to obtain vengeance for his family. Ai Rui has begun to learn the way of the sword to rectify this shortcoming, but still finds more focus on learning and determining what a person will do next.
