Post by Tong Kai on Jun 7, 2011 4:45:10 GMT
Name: Tong Kai
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Style: original
Residence: Xiang Yang
Personality:
Like any normal minded man with great accomplishments no matter how small Kai will never be the one person that didn’t boast about his victory. He enjoys to be in the spot light if he has done well and isn’t afraid to pat himself on the back. He can be irritated rather quickly but it takes a great deal to make him lose his head with rage. He never will be known for being a great diplomat because he will snap at people without even thinking. He has intelligence but finds pure strength to be a greater feature so will mock those that he finds frail. It is very difficult to gain his loyalty because one of the few ways to make him respect you is to beat him in combat but once loyalty is gained it will take a great deal to destroy it.
Appearance:
Kai is at a height of around 5 foot 8 and he is very toned. He makes up for his lack of height with his width. He weighs nearly 250 lbs. His arms are of colossal size and great length which makes it a terrifying thought for him to grab a hold of you. If his chest is seen bare it would be obvious to how muscular the man is. He has a large head of hair which he lets flow about down his back reaching passed his shoulder blades. It is a deep black and seems very well taken care of despite its length. His face is textured in a way that even when he is in a good mood people may still find him intimidating from his glare. A small beard grows from his chin into a point which also seems very well groomed.
Apparel/Armour:
Upon his body usually is a somewhat heavy body of metallic armor. It is styled with deep colors of black and silver. The weight of it alone could make a weak man crumble into pieces but because of Kai’s pure strength he can move rather well with it on. He gives up his speed for the great protection provided by the metal. Without a very sharp weapon and a very strong arm the armor can be a very difficult thing to break because of its thickness. Along with the practical uses it also has a large demon type creature’s head carved out of the front which can be quite startling to those unprepared. The arms which stop right before Kai’s wrist are not as thick as the chest and leg pieces so that mobility is allowed but are still hard enough that they take a few swipes to break. The end of the arms are shaped like the heads of demons. The legs are once again not as hard at the chest piece but are harder than the arms. On the knees and elbows of the armor are sharpened rows of small spikes that can be used for killing enemies that get too close.
Kai’s normal apparel is a large robe that somehow fits on his body. It is a deep black with a silver design sewn into the silk. The robe is slightly larger than his body so that a small layer of leather armor can be worn under it just incase.
Weapon(s):
The main weapons used by Tong Kai are two large axes that were constructed personally. The blades are sharpened regularly. The axes are of great size so are unusually heavy. They can not be moved fast but if they strike they will usually kill with their own weight especially when applied with the strength of Kai.
History:
Tong Kai was the son of a blacksmith in Xiang Yang. His family was well off for someone that gained coin from such a craft. Kai’s father once was a enlisted soldier that fought against Dong Zhuo during the coalition. He lived to see another day and returned to his home a hero. With this accomplishment Kai’s father became well known in the area and soon joined the forces of Liu Biao as an official.
Though he was now ranking he still worked as a blacksmith and so taught his son Kai the craft. Kai was always a rather large child so he took to the job rather quickly. Through the work he gained greater strength as well as a vast knowledge of metal whether it be weapons or armor. Along with this he thought it a grand idea to learn to use some of these items. He crafted himself a suit of his very own armor and two axes. His father thought it strange to make them so heavy. He had to work to lift one of them let alone two. His son Kai however had been working more than just the smith. He had helped local butchers and farmers do the more manual and heavy labor so his strength increased swiftly. Being able to hold both axes with little work and be able to move normally with the armor made his father astonished.
Kai’s father went to his liege Liu Biao and requested his son’s admittance as an officer. With his deeds under his liege the request was accepted and Kai became a low ranking military official. He mostly trained soldiers, which he did with great vigor. The specific group of soldiers he had trained after months of work became terrifyingly strong compared to the rest of the crop. Kai used unorthodox ways of training which was what he was used to.
Time passed and his rank increased to a full fledged general of troops that he personally trained. They were all large and very strong men that wore heavy armor and large weapons, mostly axes and maces. They carved through rebels and such with great ease. However soon a large army ventured south which was lead by the prime minster Cao Cao. Kai had gotten to like the company of Liu Bei and his small squabble so he ventured out with his men and acted as a vanguard for the man as he fought near Chang Ban. His force took heavy casualties but they had done a great deal of damage and held back the enemy army for some time before retreating.
Kai had heard of his lord Liu Biao’s death and his son’s surrender. He was greatly angered by this cowardice and traveled away from Xiang Yang. His army still had their families in Jing so they returned and surrendered as well. Kai however could not do such a thing and so became a vagabond and went off in a different direction to find a cause to get behind.
