Wei Controlled Shou Chun 1 Week After Er Ba Zhen 1642 hours
Xingji? Xingji, wake up!
Xingji looked around, only to see the walls of her study in Jian Ye beginning to waver. Earthquake? Here?
Xingji didn't even have time to fully process the thought. In a flash, the study was gone, as was the quake, and she was back in the real world.
Her two minds were silent for once, as both attempted to process her surroundings. Everywhere her eyes went, she saw only a blackness. She could hear only her own ragged breathing. She could taste something coppery in her mouth... Blood, Calculating Xingji realized. If that's the case, Impulsive Xingji began, then why don't we feel anything?[/i]
It was true; she could feel nothing, despite having full awareness of her other senses. With a groan, she opened her eyes. The feeling returned as a wave of pain that coursed through her. Her head throbbed, her arms felt like lead when she tried to raise them to rub her eyes, and her stomach felt as if she'd swallowed a vat of acid. She could feel herself being helped into a sitting position.
Xingji? You're awake!
As messed up as she was, she still remembered who that voice belonged to.
Dun? What... happ... fuc... She started to ask, but was interrupted by the onset of unconsciousness. This time, dreams did not rise up to cover the blackness; it was pure, dreamless sleep.

Wei Controlled Shou Chun 1 Week After Er Ba Zhen 1645 hours
Damn it! Dun swore as Xingji lapsed back into unconsciousness.
He looked around; the camp was a shambles. Fires were scattered, tents trampled, corpses sprawled in all positions, as many Wu as Wei. Just hours ago, the place had been full of men going about their duties...
Wei Controlled Shou Chun 5 Days After Er Ba Zhen 2211 Hours
Are you sure tracking is wise? We're miles behind enemy lines, even if our forces are prevailing at the moment. We don't know who's out here.
Dun's smile held as he finished buckling Xingji's breast plate.
Even if it is a bad idea, we need a lead, some sort of trail. We haven't seen any sign of a trail since we crossed that stream yesterday. You're right; we don't know who's out here. But we're not going to find General Zhangba by plowing blindly on, so we track.
Dun had had this conversation with her and a few of the other soldiers several times already, but none would be persuaded that he must take the risk. Xingji must have been exasperated by now too, yet still she glared at him. But what if you run into a Wei patrol? Or bandits? Not only will you be dead or captured, but our whole expedition will be forced to turn back, our mission failed! And for Heaven's sake not so tight! You ravaged my breasts enough last night, I don't need you trying to force them back into my chest as well!
Dun only laughed as she kicked his steel-armored shin with a leather boot. Other than the boots and breast plate, she wore no armor other than a helmet, something which they'd been arguing about since they left Jian Ye a couple of weeks ago. He quite rightly pointed out that she'd have a hell of a time defending herself if a formation of infantry managed to reach her squadron of archers, and she'd just as rightly pointed out that with anything too heavy or cumbersome she wouldn't be able to handle her bow properly. In the end, Dun had only been able to convince her to add a helmet, though she could have also worn bracers and greaves with no real detriment to her archery.
Well, Dun began as she began to hop on one foot, swearing over her stubbed toe, in addition to greaves and bracers, you probably should have listened when I told you to order a chest plate with larger breasts. I told you those weren't going to fit in this. A C cup might have been able to handle Xingji's breasts; her D's barely managed to cram in without her nipples falling out, but only just.
I didn't want to call too much attention to my chest! I already get enough of it, being the only woman in camp!
Then just a little bit more doesn't hurt, now does it?
Xingji raised her fists to pummel him, but seemed to think better of it, perhaps learning from her previous kick.
I... fuck you!
And we just finished putting our armor back on. Are you hungry for more already?
You know what? Go tracking. I hope you ride right into a Wei patrol!
I could use the exercise; maybe you'll scream even louder next time we fuck!
Xingji slapped him across the face before storming out of the tent, muttering furiously to herself. Dun merely laughed as his cheek reddened, barely noticing the muttering. The habit had certainly increased in frequency since their argument in Jian Ye, but Dun attributed it to stress.
