Name: Li Ru "Perfect Gentlemen of the Palace".
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Residence: Xia Pi
Personality:
A smart and cunning character who has many talents and abilities, some which are clearly shown and some that remain inside. He is a interesting devious individual, who uses his strategic mind to bring about success and victory, hoping that his actions will be remembered in history. Able to predict enemy movements and acts accordingly. He has a fixed set of morals and ideals that he upholds, but remains loyal to his lord. Not a man to make rash decisions, but rather think through his options before issuing commands.
Appearance:
Li Ru is a young man with a pale-looking face, a moustache and a small beard, dark, sharp and beady eyes and dark shaded lips to reflect his character. His hair is dark, hidden under his minister’s dark red hat with a silver trim around the edge. He wears an long musky brown robe with faded patterns on top with black trimmings along the edge of the robe. He is not a muscular male but what he lacks physically, he makes up for it mentally.
Apparel/Armour:
As Li Ru usually is not involved in combat, he does not wear no armour, as there is no need to when he is directing his army. When moving around he wears his long rich musky brown robes.
Weapon(s): War Fan (Lvl. 1)
As Li Ru is not equipped military, he has no need to carry a sword but instead carries a War Fan to make directing easier, to cool himself down if he ever gets a temperature (or angry). Though not a weapon for war, it can do some damage to any troops that approach him, and due to the lightness of the Fan, it is easily manoeverable.
History:
Li Ru. Son-in law to the tyrant Dong Zhuo who had once had the land under his enormous fingertips. Ever since leaving Xi Liang, Li Ru had always stood by Dong Zhuo’s side, offering his advice. As soon as the request arrived to rid the eunuchs, Dong Zhuo and Li Ru did not hesitate and made their way to Luo Yang. However with He Jin assassinated, and the eunuchs eliminated, Dong Zhuo by the advice of Li Ru, took control and announced his ambitions to the other ministers of the Han.
Ever since this move, Dong Zhuo had enemies, the major one being Ding Yuan. However, the problem did not reside with this old minister but his adopted son, Lu Bu. Li Ru decided that the best course of action was to have Lu Bu for themselves, so after discussing how, Li Si put Li Ru’s plan into place which was successful – Lu Bu had entered Dong Zhuo’s service with Ding Yuan’s head.
With this main threat removed, Dong Zhuo and Li Ru then put the plan to replace Emperor Shao with the more “able” Prince Xian. It wasn’t long before “loyal” generals to the Han revolted and attempted to assassinate Dong Zhuo – Cao Cao. Li Ru advised that an arrest needed to be made, but he wasn’t found due to the aid of Chen Gong.
A coalition was then formed against Dong Zhuo. Hua Xiong guarded Si Shui gate but then news arrived that he was defeated, so the rest of Dong Zhuo’s army met at Hu Lao gate, but again, due to the might of the Three Brothers, they ordered a retreat. Dong Zhuo, with Li Ru’s advice burned the city of Luo Yang and moved to Chang An. Fearing pursuit by Cao Cao, Li Ru advised that Lu Bu remain in ambush. It was gratifying news when they heard that Cao Cao’s forces were defeated.
With the coalition failed, the final stage was to separate Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu. With the use of Diao Chan, being a lover of Lu Bu and the concubine to Dong Zhuo, she was able to place a wedge between them. Li Ru attempted to avoid this but Dong Zhuo had refused.
It was not long before Lu Bu took control of Chang An. Li Ru was facing execution, but then suddenly Lu Bu had come and saved him. Grateful for the rescue, he decided to repay this debt by serving him, however, he could not forgive Diao Chan who had caused this much trouble.
Lu Bu’s forces were driven out of Chang An due to Li Jue, Guo Si and Jia Xu. They had taken Cao Cao’s stronghold of Pu Yang but was driven out. Facing elimination so early, he took refuge under Liu Bei in Xia Pi. He later betrayed Liu Bei by taking Xia Pi.
Now, Lu Bu’s forces remain in Xia Pi, with Cao Cao’s large forces to the West, Yuan Shu to the South and Yuan Shao to the North. They would need to make their move soon....this would be when Li Ru comes into the picture once more....
