(It has been a while since I last rped, please bear with me ) Ma Dai rode towards the city of Xin Ye with a smile on his face. He had finally decided to follow his kinsman Ma Chao and go to Liu Bei, a "man of the people" some call him. If he was good enough for Chao he was good enough for Ma Dai. It was hard to leave Ma Teng but Ma Dai thought that his talents would be better put to use with Liu Bei. "Ma Dai here to see Liu Bei please...I am interested in joining your leader."Ma Dai said this as he came through the city and came up to the place where Liu Bei was staying at. Ma Dai waited there for a response from the guards, all the while tapping his foot...he always had to be doing something, he could never stay still.

[ "No religion, what I follow is my feet." ”No psalms. As far as holy water goes; I would be the bath. Liu Bei sat within his quarters, inhaling the incense and gently carrying out his daily worship; though he wasn't a man of God. He was a man of tranqulity, respect and virtue. His voice was calm, yet gentle and powerful. His brow was curled, like two giant silk worms; with a giant lime-green cloak coiled around his small body. The lucid smoke hollowed around the young man, though age was slowly taking effect upon him - youthfulness and energy was something that just leaked from him. He was burst of unstoppable energy; sprinkled with a daring lust of ambition and care for the people.
"My excellency, Ma Dai; of Xi Liang country seeks an audience with you."
A simple guardsman notified him of the appearance of another kindsman of the Ma family. Liu Bei stroked his face; bowing his head gently towards the shrine for forgiveness for leaving early before, making his way to greet the young warrior. Xuande was presented to Ma Dai a few moment later, a young but sophisticated man from the Northern lands, following much in the steps of his cousins Ma Chao and Ma Yunlu.
"General Ma Dai! It is a pleasure to welcome you to my humble city of Xinye; is there anything I can do for you?"
Liu Bei said, carefully scaling down the steps of the courtyard of the small palace and then into the great outdoors. What a splendid summers day it was, the birds sung their ballads, the wind was scarce and the sun beyond pleasing. Liu Bei had a giant grin upon his face, the smile that never seemed to rub off his face. The man had a nature in which he could always see awfully good things or awfully terrible things. He was at either end of the stick most of the time. Liu Bei was a lot shorter then Ma Dai, he bowed gently before offering the two of themselves to take a little walk. Liu Bei tired of the palace walls. The interior was.. well.. boring.
"Your cousin, Ma Chao is a unmatchable foe.. and Ma Yunlu, I have never seen a woman such as heroic nor strong. You possess the same blood within your veins, but do you share the same motives and skill?"
Liu Xuande questioned, laughing heartily and they wandered out of the gates of the residence and into the town. The population of the town was relatively small compared to most of the other feudal lords, but Liu Bei was humble; day by day more fled to reside beneath Xuande's banner.
"Tell me Ma Dai, what do you wish to bring from your short time on this earth?"

Ma Dai looked at Liu Bei with much respect. There was something behind that nice, innocent smile of the man that made Ma Dai respect him. He truly looked like the "Man of the People" not just from looking at him but by the large amount of people who have flocked to him, and for that, Ma Dai respected him. "I may be hard-pressed to match Chao and Yunlu but I will give you all that I have if you will have me."
Ma Dai smiled, and then said to Liu Bei,"There are two things...one is to belong somewhere and the second and most important is to bring peace to this war torn land. And I believe that it is under you that I can help bring about that new age of peace. I knew this because Chao and Yunlu came to you instead of Cao Cao or Sun Ce(it is Sun Ce currently right? haha). They saw something in you that made you stand out from the rest, and whatever they see in you is good enough for me."

[ "No religion, what I follow is my feet." ”No psalms. As far as holy water goes; I would be the bath. Liu Bei nodded, mere skill meant nothing to Liu Bei. You could be the most skilled man in the world, but without purpose, without honour, without a true goal - you were nothing. Through compassion, strength, unity, friendship and team work; Liu Bei would base the foundations of the ressurection of the Han. That was his true goal. To one day rest the unsettlement within the land and create a China of freedon and peace.
"It is true, both Cao Cao and Sun Ce are heroes of our time. It will take many men like ourselves to stand against them."
Liu Bei turned to a more serious face, gritting down upon his teeth almost immediately. Just the name of his nemesis churned his stomach. A face-off would come sooner rather than later and one of them would eventually fall.
"I can only pray that yourself and your kinsmen are correct."
Liu Bei laughed, having come from literally nothing more than a sandal weaver into a man being pushed constantly by his officers to become a ruler was a little more than exhausted. Unlike the aristocrats like Cao Cao, Dong Zhuo and Yuan Shao.. Liu Bei had come from a poor family but possessed the blood of the Imperial Clan.
"If you wish to serve me, I only ask of you of two things. Firstly, you serve me and ultimately serve the people. The free peoples of this world must not come to harm or our dream will be in tatters. No matter the cost, we shall all lay down our lives, to protect the innocents."
Liu Bei looked at the man honestly. This was more than simply serving a lord for fame and honour. This was a cause, a final call for a movement of peace.
"The second is that you must never look for battles, but if a battle comes you way; fight for you life. Do you understand?"
Liu Bei questioned the man. The Empire beneath Liu Bei was small at the moment, but there were basic morals and principles that needed to be kept. People could only be attacked under certain conditions, if an officer beneath Liu Bei was to act unruly, it would slander the name of Xuande.

Ma Dai nodded and saw the serious look on Bei's face...he was serious and he meant every single word. Ma Dai then replied,"As long as I am still breathing, I will fight for you and the people. I give my sword to the people, willing to die for them!"As he said this, Dai kneeled down on one knee to Liu Bei. In just a short conversation, probably like so many others, Liu Bei had captivated Dai's heart and Dai was going to let him keep it. Dai would give everything he had to Liu Bei and the people, if that was his lord's wish.
Ma Dai got back up, and said,"What shall you have me do first my lord?"Ma Dai was always eager, always wanting to be doing something...and he was NEVER a fan of waiting.

[ "No religion, what I follow is my feet." ”No psalms. As far as holy water goes; I would be the bath. Liu Bei nodded to the man before lifting him up onto his feet, everyone was equal here; though he admired the mans respect. Ignorance wasn't something Liu Bei held favourable but Ma Dai seemed humble and rather open-minded. He didn't consider himself immortal but neither wortless either. It was a healthy concept. Xuande smiled, welcoming him within the force with open arms.
"Ma Dai, the journey will be full of peril, death, disease and hardship. But I sense greatness from you. Keep you head straight and your blade straighter and together we shall forge a new world, one of peace and unity!"
Liu Bei remarked, throwing his fist in the air. Several doves fluttering away who had been resting silently. The young man was pumped, they currently sat in a dangerous situation geographically and would need to move sooner or later. The man questioned for his first task, in which Liu Bei judged the man. He would test him, physically and mentally.
"Your first task would be to accompany several generals including your cousins on a small campaign. The exericise would be great for you to bond with the fellow generals as well as gain some military experience. They won't set off for a while; however be prepared."
Liu Bei was refering upon the jurisdiction of several trouble makers within the ranks of Liu Zhang's army. Yan Yan and Zhang Ren must be punished for their crimes of destroying relations between Liu Bei and Liu Zhang. Liu Bei nodded, Ma Dai was a smart man and Ma Chao and Ma Yunlu could use a man of brains when the battle got heated.

"Yes my lord, I shall be ready. I would like to see my kinsmen again...do you know by any chance where they might be?"Ma Dai asked. Dai was now a part of Liu Bei's forces, a place where he truly belonged. Now Dai wished to see his kinsman and tell them the good news. Oh how he missed them since they left to come to Liu Bei, wishing to serve under this great man. Ma Dai looked out over the city, watching the people, they all looked so happy. Even the ones that only had the clothes on their backs were beaming, that is something you don't see everyday. Another attribute that Liu Bei had, not only was he a man of the people, but he also made them happy and he was happy to be around the common people, not just around some stuck up nobles. That must be the reason why Chao and Yunlu were attracted to Liu Bei.
