"A real man lives by sword and shield alone."
- Kong Ming
Name: Kong Ming. "Crimson Hand".
Age: 27
Gender: Male
Style: Original
Residence: Yun Nan.
Personality:
Kong Ming is a very VERY opinionated guy. Even when he is wrong he will never allow you to know that he is wrong. He is very stubborn. He is motivated by the things he loves. Among those things are family. Being from a "nanman" village his family consists of the village in which he was raised. Ming has shown that he will do just about anything given the right price. The 'price' however is not of monetary value. He enjoys the thrill and game of performing hard tasks. If a task is too easy he will expect more monetary gain because it is not challenging enough. If someone is annoying Kong Ming, he will let them know about it. If it continues he will either leave or attack that person. Although Kong Ming has been known to be a confrontational person he views vengeance or showing his superiority over another person a game. He has been known to plot against even those within his own village to show his dominance as alpha male. Everything to Kong Ming is a game.
Appearance:
Kong Ming has a burly build. His strong body is somewhat ironic given his strong mind and opinions. It is obvious from first glance that Kong Ming has seen war of some sort given the three scars on his cheek from a wild beast's claw marks. He also has scars on his body since war is something that is second nature to him. Kong Ming has a black beard along with a nice mustache that stretches past his chin. It is subject to numerous strokes of his hand when he thinks. His big dark eyes portray strength and might. His hair is balding despite his young age. This makes sense since his father lost his hair when he was 30 years young. As such his hair is short and does not grow long even if he were to try.
Apparel/Armour:
His clothes almost always consist of his battle garb. He wears thick armor with a small cloth of yellow showing through the armor. Many have mistaken it as gold on his armor but such is the illusion he attempts. Despite his picture, he refuses to wear a helmet since he believes that only cowards wear helmets plus he thinks it limits his vision when he is fighting.
His casual clothes consist of simple cloth with a yellow robe that covers his plain white undershirt and pants. The yellow robe itself has a few holes in it due to rough play when Kong Ming forgot to put on his armor.
Weapon(s):
Kong Ming is only in possession of a Shortsword (Level 1). He has proven to be successful in his attack with his weapon so far. He finds it comfortable but knows it is relatively weak.
History:
Kong Ming grew up in a land that he does not remember. All he knows is that it was somewhere in China. His family often went traveling for business matters. Ming thinks his parents were diplomats of some sort but does not truly know. On one of their many travels Kong Ming wandered off away from his parents since he is quite the curious type. He left their presence and wandered into the woods. A few hours later he figured he was lost. Fortunately, for him he was picked up by a group of bandits that often traveled the lands and raided cities and villages for support. It was with them that he was raised and taught how to fight.
Kong Ming grew up to be a teenager and continued living off the land plundering all that he saw with the "Crimson Wolves" as they called themselves. It was not until the age of 18 that the Crimson Wolves disbanded after a failed attempt at a plunder of a larger city which left many dead. Kong Ming had no home so he decided to travel south. He came upon a village of people known to most of China as "nanman". Although he was relatively unfamiliar with the word he found it to be a place where he fit in perfectly. The "nanman" people took him in and treated him as if he were apart of their family despite his numerous temper tantrums when he did not get his way or someone said he was wrong.
Kong Ming reached the age of 21 and found a love for hunting. A custom in his village was to create necklaces out of the teeth of the animals they hunted and killed. Those with the biggest teeth and largest necklaces were honored in the village. Kong Ming took the challenge to be honored as the best hunter in the tribe. He killed, no slaughtered as many animals as he possibly could and achieved the highest honor he could at his age. This was his rise to becoming what he saw as the alpha male of his tribe.
At the age of 24 Kong Ming made it a tradition to win the honor of best hunter in his tribe. After 4 years of winning he wanted something more challenging. Unfortunately for him that request was granted. A group of bandits came into the borders of Kong Ming's new home. They marched on the homes of Kong Ming's people and plundered what they could. The village was unprepared for such an attack and allowed them to have their way. Kong Ming was enraged when they were finished and formed a small army of young men to find and kill those bandits.
He found them and started a small scale battle. Although both sides were relatively equal in number Kong Ming stood as a symbol of strength for his militia and lead them to a decisive victory over the bandits. He ruthlessly killed the bandits and removed their teeth only to put it on his necklace. He was blinded by rage and was past feeling or remorse as he performed such actions.
He was honored and promoted in his village to be the general of the militia. He formed a small army and gave them the name "Crimson Wolves". Bandits came and went. Kong Ming always stood at the head of his small army and always defeated the bandits he faced. His tactics were ruthless and he left not one of them alive. He collected one of their teeth as a trophy of his accomplishments. Bandits soon would approach the land but hide in fear of the "Crimson Wolves" and the man they only knew as the "Crimson Hand". Perhaps it was his hand they feared and not so much his army but nonetheless his village saw peace.
Kong Ming decided he would leave the village and protect the land on a much larger scale. He had protected his village but wanted to face bigger challenges. His prowess on the battlefield was unmatched and perhaps would forever be unmatched had he not decided to leave. Given a horse from his village, he now roams Yun Nan seeking employment.
