"You're simply not my type."
Name: Yu Jin (Wenze)
Age: Age of character: 30 (born in 164)
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Residence: Xu Chang
Personality: Yu Jin is, quite simple described, a flamboyant figure. Though nothing compared to that of some particularly odd officers of his acquaintance, Wenze holds a rather official pursuit for the luxurious life, the elaborate decoration of every aspect in his world, and, most importantly, a prettier set of armour. Although strict and extremely lacking in humour, many of his words are strived to have gone through the filter of fancy, clothed with poetic expressions at times.
However much Yu Jin takes pride in honorably holding the title of General of the Vanguard, he lacks much courage as a warrior. A skilled combatant, and a considerable strategist capable of leading the battle, yet Wenze would crumble in fear without proper support. This aspect of cowardice and an everlasting potential to flee from any battlefield neglects the building of much loyalty in his personality. As much as he regards Cao Cao as a worthy ruler of the land, it is much the power that he holds that keeps Wenze here, not the traits of the liege.
Appearance: Yu Jin's natural appearance holds a singular contrast that sets him aside from the majority of his acquaintances in how tall he is. Standing at a height of 6'3", leaning towards the giant of his age, he possesses a firm, generally muscular build, developed over the course of many years in battle. His skin a tan shade generated from months under the sun, yet his complexion is flawless as far as the face goes. His long dark hair is tied and kept hidden under his headwear at all times, while his black facial hair is kept moderately short at a mere moustache and goatee.
Apparel/Armour: Yu Jin's dream of luxurious apparel has yet to be achieved in full in the form of his armour. As much as he looks forward to an advancement in his wages to further his wardrobe, for now Wenze suits himself with a set of iron-plated armor. As most armor goes, it is primarily the torso that holds the majority of the suit, with the legs sufficing with simple thigh and knee guards.
Decorated only to the smallest extent, the only significant carve would be that of Wenze's iron helmet, the rim of it established in curving patterns of elaborate picture. The colours of Cao Cao is represented with pride upon Wenze's helmet feathers and the long blue cape draped over his shoulders and tied to his front. And as not every bit of his form can be shielded with protective iron, his undergarments always consist of a conspicuous azure suit of cloth, long-sleeved and lacking hand-pieces.
Weapon(s): Ji Spear - Level 3 - A rather simply-constructed spear consisting of a wooden shaft and a sturdy iron tip, it serves as a weapon light enough to move with swiftness in Yu Jin's hands. The double-bladed head itself is slightly carved by the hand of a master blacksmith, but only for the purpose of efficient piercing, not for decoration. The only hint of luxury that this weapon might hold would be the azure bundle of thread representing the colours of Cao Cao.
In battle, the spear serves its purpose as both a thrusting weapon and a long-ranged hacker. The latter is primarily utilized in Yu Jin's technique of fighting, with the length of the spear giving its user the advantage of reach compared to a simple blade. Yet, however much as the shaft itself would seem invincible to attack, it holds almost no meaning other than a grip. Blocking can only be performed via quick management of the head itself, for quite a majority of sharp iron can slice through thin wooden poles and leave the wielder of the broken weapon vulnerable.
History: Yu Jin, styled Wenze, was born in the Tai Mountain prefecture of Ju Ping County in the year 164. When the Yellow Turban officially began in 184, the local warrior Bao Xin called together many men to join him in battle against the threat. Yu Jin initially willed to serve under Bao Xin. However, when Cao Cao started to rise in power, Wenze and several of his friends offered their services to Cao's large army.
Placed as a simple soldier under Wang Lang, during the time in which he fought against Dong Zhuo, Yu Jin grew to earn the respect of his superior, and was eventually recommended to Cao for the position of a general. After Wenze had had the opportunity to talk face-to-face with his lord, he was appointed a general, and after several small victories of battle in the Xu province, Wenze was given the rank of General of the Vanguard.
And as the lords of the realm each grew in power, Yu Jin continues to serve his lord Cao.
