Personality
The name Zhao Yun passes through the country with honour and strength, two of the reasons so many seek his employment. Seeing himself as an equal to many of the more famous warriors when he first started, Zhao Yun quickly rose in rank and prominance and made himself one of the few officers Lord Liu Bei could rely on almost completely. His selfless nature in battle has given him the title of The Little Dragon.
Like so many in his time line, there is a part of Zhao Yun that only the select few would ever see. Beneath his honourable and charming persona is a darker person, someone who doesn't always obey by the common rules. When he loses his temper it is sudden and frightening for some and in such a state of mind he can become very dangerous and unpredictable. Those of a higher or similar rank usually know about his darker side and will embrace it, noting it is this hidden spirit that has driven the Little Dragon on behind the scenes.

History
In his early years of service Zhao Yun was an attendant in the service of Lord Gongsun Zan of Bei Ping. His talents as a youngster were often unseen and overlooked by his superiors who consistently entrusted campaigns against the local tribes and the powerful warlord Yuan Shao to more senior ranks. It would not be until Zhao Yun was 18 years of age would he gain any substantial recognition.
In a way to discover untapped talent a competition was held within Bei Ping, showcasing some of the finest soldiers in the army. The young Zhao Yun found stern opposition to begin with, but eventually won the competition by some distance and proved himself a more than able warrior and rider. Given the military rank of Field Marshal, the young warrior was sent to war in a most difficult war of territory, that of the dreaded Shao/Zan war.
Within the year that followed many skirmishes broke out and on several occasions Zilong once again shon beyond many of his fellow officers, yet his age held him back from further promotion. In one particular offense it were the forces of Zhao Yun and his men which brought about a grand victory as he pushed forward selflessly and plundered the vitally important supply depot of the enemy. Gaining many plaudits and fans, Zhao Yun returned as a hero and seemed destined for high rank and honours were it not for his lord's death.
Following Gongsun Zan's death and with no able enough heir, Zhao Yun set his sights on a new leader and saw the seemingly noble and honourable Liu Bei as a more than good option. After the first meeting between the two men it was apparant to Liu Bei that Zhao Yun possessed a deep hunger to succeed and find eventual peace. Following a showing of his abilities and a noteable spar with the mighty brothers Zhang Fei and Guan Yu, Zhao Yun was given an immediate rank of Commander.
During the year following the death of Dong Zhuo became the time when Zhao Zilong made his name within the ranks of Liu Bei. Stationed within Xin Ye he was given an early mission taking down so called bandits between the city and that of the allied Cao Cao. Discovering a camp of Lu Bu's, Zhao Yun sent for reinforcements and quickly dealt with the small issue and reported back to his lord, pleading for remifications due to the transgression.
During the following few months Zhao Yun was entrusted on numerous occasions to rid of the nearby lands of bandit and rebel forces, granting him the title of 'He who vanquishes the bandits' and a promotion to Field Marshall. Under the direction of Liu Bei and Zhuge Liang, Zhao Yun later moved as reinforcements against Lu Bu who had taken the initiative to probe for a weakness in his western enemies lands. Defeat at the hands of Lu Bu cost Liu Bei many, but were it not for heroic actions by Zhao Yun many more would have been lost and for his efforts he was given the rank of Tiger General, a rank few gained at such an age.
