Name: Sima Shi
Style: Ziyuan
Age: 19
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Residence: Chang An
Personality:
The best way to sum up Sima Shi would be as arrogant and self absorbed. He full believes he is better than anyone else but his father and has a strong tendency not to care about anyone outside his immediate family. This makes him cold and unapproachable to many although he has strong ties with his father and brother who know him better. While he does have a lot of talent which he allows to shine threw like the light of the sun many resent him for his unbridled arrogance even comparing him to the young Cao Pi.
He is a deep think and given to dark moods of melancholy when he is brooding over a tricky problem. While this again adds to his dark and cold aura it means he makes very few mistakes as he never jumps into anything without considering every angle. His choices tend toward the ruthless and he almost never allows himself any acts of mercy at all. When he does allow mercy it is because it of more benefit to him than an orgy of bloodletting not because of any feeling of compassion. Cold un tempered logic and a unquenchable ambition of power drives this young man to unspeakable acts. While his ambition is for himself he justifies it as he really believes he is the most capable man to lead not just because he desires power for its own glory.
Most of his decisions are not madly rashly not based on emotional triggers. Instead he allowed logic and strategy to guide him toward whatever course is more efficient. He thinks little of breaking the codes of morality set down by other men as long as it leads to a positive end result that he hoped to achieve. His only real limits are in regards to doing things he wants would be in regards to actions that harm his own clan. While he feels no real loyalty to his lord/s he follows them because they are skilful and should they become otherwise they would have something to fear in regards to betrayal. He does however allow his father to guide his actions at least while the old man is still alive.
Appearance:
Sima Shi has a very pale almost western complexion considering his nationality. His eyes and his hair are a hazel brown although he often dyes his hair pitch black. His hair is almost shoulder length and parted at the front to keep it out of his eyes. He wears a patch below his left eye although he still has sight in both eyes. It extends across the length of the eye and about 5cm down.
His height is about 5'5 foot tall making him about average or perhaps a little below. He is certainly shorter than his younger brother Zhao. He is not exactly thin but lean is probably a better term. His muscles are not overly exaggerated but are sufficient but it is his mind with which he defeats his enemies not his arms.
Apparel/Armour:
A preference for light armour has always been Shi's general preference. To that end his armour in battle is a mix of cloth with light plate over his chest. It allows freedom of movement with some protection in key areas. He also wares thick gloves over his hands to prevent his hands becoming an easy target.
While out of battle he prefers heavy robes. His preference for colours tends towards turquoise blue and silver. His clan crest is blazoned on the back in golden thread. He also has a less ornate set of robes for wearing an court when he wishes to be less conspicuous.
Weapon(s):
Sima Shi's weapons of choice are two short Jian swords that are capable of being duel wielded at the same time. Shi is ambidextrous an so capable of using them in either hand with the same level of proficiency. He does however have a preference for the left as most swordsmen seem put off by a left handed opponent. The handles of both blades are ornately craved with images of dragons and tigers coiled together.
History:
It is not known when Sima Shi was born, but it is known that he was Sima Yi's oldest son, born of Sima Yi's wife, Lady Zhang Chunhua. Speculation would however put the date at around the time of the battle of red cliffs. When he was young, he was known for the elegance in his conduct and his intelligence. As his father was an important Cao Wei official, Sima Shi himself climbed up the ranks of officials fairly rapidly.
Because his brother Sima Zhao was always seen as being lazy if capable he never saw him as a rival. Because of this they got along very well and both learned at a young age the secrets of strategy and command from their father. Knowing that Zhao would support him in his ambition they two because quite close. He would always lead while his brother would only follow. He received his military training starting from the age of 7 in the city of Chang An while his father was away with the army. Although he showed signs of being a very capable swordsman his real talents were in other areas. His stuides consumed his early life in areas of history, military strategy, politics, mathematics and martial arts. He was noted as not only a scholar but something of a poet as well. This was not however unusual in china at this time.
He was given his first command at a young age in the army under the command of his exulted father Sima Yi. He waited now under his command for his own chance to prove his skill and ability. His real goals however remain hidden from all but his father and brother. Will they be given a chance to achieve them, not even the heavens know that.
