Many things can be said about Zhuge Liang, he acts with the utmost courtesy. He is very kind, to those who deserve it, and those who don't. And to those who value such a thing, he is incredibly intelligent. That is all on the outside. Inside, Zhuge Liang is indeed a 'Sleeping Dragon'. His main ambition is much larger than his lord's Lord Liu Bei's. He seeks to rule among many subjects, to twist people to his will by his very speech alone. With a whim, he would like to have someone executed. This is the power that Zhuge Liang seeks, and although he goes about, usually with a kind facade, no one can see the real Dragon beneath the skin. Zhuge Liang would sacrifice his closest friends if it meant increasing his influence. The pursuit of knowledge empowers Zhuge Liang, being a incredibly intelligent means having power over those who cannot think five steps ahead of their opponent. Amongst people, no one would suspect a thing. Zhuge Liang smiles often, and his soul can not be read from his eyes. At the side of the throne at Liu Bei, Zhuge Liang feels at home, whispering his devices into the compassionate leader's ears.

Zhuge Liang is often seen in robes and carrying a hand fan made of feathers from the crane. He has aged quite well, and although he isn't a warrior, he still retains his youthfulness. At 38, he is regarded by some to be attractive, though his looks are far less attractive to a woman than his demeanor. He is mysterious, wise, almost all-knowing, he notices things like a hawk and exploits a person's weakness'. The very air around him seeps with wisdom in his presence.
Apparel/Armour:
He neglects armor, always being behind the action during the battle. He usually wears robes, in and off the battlefield.
Weapon(s):
Zhuge Liang carries a wonderfully crafted hand-and-a-half sword created by a blacksmith in Cheng Du. It has many ceremonial markings on it, but it has never seen combat. It probably never will.
He also carries a metal war fan, used to sometimes deflect sword strikes. Zhuge Liang can fight proficiently with this war fan.
History:
Born in Bei Hai, Zhuge Liang was orphaned at a young age and followed his uncle, Zhuge Xuan, to Jing province--which was ruled by Liu Biao. For the next ten years Zhuge Liang lived a simple life. By day, he was a farmer, and at night he studied. He had role models like Yue Yi and Guan Zhong, two important Chinese historical figures that inspired him to become a more intelligent person. He also had close relationships with Sima Hui, Xu Shu, and a number of other intellectuals.
Upon retreating under the protection of Liu Biao, Xu Shu recommended that Liu Bei should call upon the services of Zhuge Liang. Liu Bei consulted Sima Hui, the hermit and he replied: "Confucian academics and common scholars, how much do they know about current affairs? Those who analyze current affairs well are the elites. Crouching Dragon and Young Phoenix are the only ones in this region."
Liu Bei agreed to see 'Couching Dragon', yet Xu Shu said that in order to find Zhuge Liang, a visit was required, Zhuge Liang would not be summoned. This was to Liu Bei's surprise, but he went anyway. On the first and second visit Liu Bei did not find Zhuge Liang. Xu Shu urged him to try once more, and on the third Zhuge Liang finally appeared. Liu Bei succeeded in recruiting Zhuge Liang in 207.
Zhuge Liang immediately presented Liu Bei with the Longzhong Plan. The grand plan called for securing regional bases in the south west, and then launching a two-pronged attack on Wei. Although Liu Bei protested that it required to attack Liu Zhang, Zhuge Liang insisted that it be done.
In 208, Liu Biao died and was succeeded by his younger son, Liu Cong, who surrendered Jing Province to Cao Cao. When Liu Bei heard of Liu Cong's surrender, he led his followers (both troops and civilians) on an exodus southward to Xiakou, engaging Cao Cao's forces in a brief skirmish at the Battle of Changban along the way. While in Xiakou, Liu Bei sent Zhuge Liang to follow Lu Su to Jiangdong to discuss the formation of an alliance between him and Sun Quan.
Zhuge Liang met Sun Quan in Chaisang and proposed two solutions to Sun, "If you can use the forces of Wuyue to resist the Middle Kingdom, why not break ties with Cao Cao in advance? If you cannot oppose, why not demobilize the troops, discard your armour and surrender to the north?" After Sun Quan's viceroy, Zhou Yu, analyzed the situation and pointed out weaknesses in Cao Cao's army, Sun finally agreed to ally with Liu Bei in resisting Cao. Zhuge Liang returned to Liu Bei's camp with Sun Quan's envoy, Lu Su, to make preparation for the upcoming war.
In late 208, the allied armies of Liu Bei and Sun Quan scored a decisive victory over Cao Cao's forces at the Battle of Red Cliffs. Cao Cao retreated to Ye, while Liu Bei proceeded to conquer territories in Jiangnan, covering most of southern Jing Province. Zhuge Liang was appointed "Military Advisor General of the Household". He was put in charge of governing Lingling, Guiyang and Changsha commanderies and collecting taxes to fund the military.
In 211, Liu Zhang, governor of Yi Province, requested aid from Liu Bei in attacking Zhang Lu of Hanzhong. Liu Bei left Zhuge Liang, Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and others in charge of Jing Province while he led an army into Sichuan. Liu Bei promptly agreed to Liu Zhang's proposal, but secretly planned to takeover Liu Zhang's land. The following year, Liu Zhang discovered Liu Bei's intention, and the two turned hostile and waged war on each other. Zhuge Liang, Zhang Fei and Zhao Yun led separate forces to reinforce Liu Bei in the attack on Liu Zhang's capital city, Cheng Du, while Guan Yu stayed behind to guard Jing Province. In 214, Liu Zhang surrendered and Liu Bei took control of Yi Province.
