"If there is any man beyond contempt; it is Wei Guozhi."
- Unknown
Name: Wei Guozhi
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Style: Original
Residence: Cheng Du
Personality:
Wei Guozhi is best described as a visionary. He is free minded and calm, but like a great wave he turns and pushes when under threat. He is not known to be an angry, or violent man, but years worth of soldiering has given him a firm and iron-like reputation. He believes in military law, the principles of state and he believes in the laws written down by scholars, but he also believes in new things. He thinks the Han is dead, and although he supports its resurrection he does so because he feels it would be easier to rebuild that which already exists than to completely start afresh. In all, he is a calm soldier, and because of his soldiering he has learned to punish and discipline men of any rank with equal ferocity. He is generally loved, feared and admired all at once.
Appearance:
Image - Opt.
Wei Guozhi is just under six foot and weighs in at 200 pounds. He is muscular from his years of soldiering and carries with him old battle wounds that have left parts of his body blemished. His nose is bent, where it was once broken and his eyes, though small, have a piercing jade like quality to them. He is not an ugly man, but nor is he 'beautiful' because of his large stature.
Apparel/Armour:
In battle, Wei Guozhi wears thick lamellar plated armour over a light leather outfit. The lamellar is plated over the torso, shoulders and forearms, but it lighter below the waist for speed. In council, Wei wears a black and green robe, with lamellar embroiled plates over one shoulder and the torso.
Weapon(s):
Wei has two weapons. The first is a long sword, which he wields usually with a shield. The sword is five feet and fairly heavy, useful for lunging and puncturing armour. His other weapon is a dual voulge, which he wields when on horseback or when he wishes to fight certain opponents. His double voulge can be split in the middle, allowing it to form two small axe like weapons. This is achieved by a wooden lock and turn mechanism.
History:
Wei Guozhi was the son of a farmer and the owner of a small village in southern Yizhou. He was drafted into the military at the age of 10, where he learned basic combat maneuvers including the spear thrust, basic sword fencing and some hand to hand combat. He followed the military training in Yizhou under the governance of Liu Zhang until he was exiled for a public offense.
In the years between Yizhou and Liu Bei, Wei was a bandit. He started his banditry in Yi, but later moved to Jing where he met Xu Shu in Jing. He later joined Liu Bei's army, but not until having earned himself the name of 'The Cruel Wei Guozhi'. That changed when he joined Liu Bei, he followed Guan Yu and Zhang Fei, and became a valiant commander during many of the campaigns. He also learned strategem, or at least parts of it that concerned him.
It was during the subjugation of Yizhou that Wei earned himself the iron clad reputation. He drilled soldiers, he rallied support and he downed his opponents. He became the man who had slain Liu Yan's son, the man who had opposed Liu Zhang and who had defeated Zhang ren and Liu Han. With victories beneath his belt, the trust of Liu Bei and the knowledge of the land, he soon became the foreseen guardian of Shu, alongside Zhao Yun and others.
When Liu Bei left the land of Ba Shu, it was Wei Guozhi who bore the political power in Cheng Du, and it was Wei Guozhi who took over from his lord in governing the land, waiting for his masters return and the reunion of the three brothers that he had grown to love and cherish as family.
