GUO HUAI
Name: Guo Huai
Age: 32
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Residence: Tianshui
Personality:
Guo Huai is a hard-working officer who follows every order that is given to him, regardless of what it may be. He is sometimes loyal to the point of stupidity, however, and often gets himself in dangerous situations due to his strong sense of duty to his superiors.
Unlike many during the time, Guo Huai actually greatly enjoys being involved in battles and working with others to achieve the goals of the kingdom. Due to his arrogant and apparent-selfish personality (Which is just a front), he has not got many friends, and usually only personally converses with those he finds talented or admirable. He purposefully goes out of his way to be rude to others and doesn't really get along with his troops, but they have gradually grown to understand his ways and just follow his orders.
Guo Huai is mature in the way in which he makes his decisions. He is very capable in picking out the best option in a set, meaning he rarely gets in to trouble with higher officers such as Sima Yi or Cao Cao. He dislikes sitting around and doing administrative duties and much prefers being able to spread his wings and do his own thing, returning back to base every now and then. He doesn't enjoy being stationed in Tianshui, as he doesn't like the local area, nor the majority of the people there.
Romance wise, Guo Huai is helpess. A lot of women wont give him the light of day due to how arrogant he actually is, so it is highly unlikely he will find anyone soon. Besides, he finds the idea of a marriage highly unpractical and thinks that the commitment to one whilst fighting is out of his league. He doesn't want to spend time on others, and is a fairly selfish person so being alone suits him better in any case.
Guo Huai's motto is ''It is better to know how to learn than to know'', and this couldn't prove any more true to his personality. He seeks much knowledge and will never back away from wisdom, always reliant on the next adventure to show him a new way of thinking. Guo Huai never loses hope in his abilities and is a very confident man, and is very capable of stretching himself to how far needed.
Appearance:
Guo Huai has black hair that reaches down to his shoulders. It is often tied up in to a bandana (as shown in the picture at the beginning) and is pulled low as to cover his forehead and therefore hinder his facial expressions. His natural face has a slight scowl to it, which can cause problems with people first meeting him - he doesn't mean to do it, it has just become a habit over time and therefore automatically goes like it.
Guo Huai often has a beard, however he likes to keep it trimmed to about an inch in length. It is dotted with grey and white hairs, as he is going prematurely grey. These hairs have begun to appear sporadically over his hair. His eyes are a cold brown, with a slight glaze over to make them look glassy. He often looks intoxicated, mainly due to his wild and scruffy appearance.
Guo Huai reaches a respectable 5''11, not too tall and not too short. His body type is slim to muscular, and he is at the peak of his athletic ability due to constant training and exercise.
Apparel/Armour:
In battle, Guo Huai wears moderate armour. Since he dislikes his movement being restricted, he wears a simple suit with a comfortable fit and acceptable protection. His armour is silver and has bits of blue and green throughout, with a black cape attached to the back of it to signify his officer status to his troops.
Out of battle, Guo Huai wears simple black and blue robes. It isn't really anything fancy, just comfortable, which is what Guo Huai is mainly interested in. There are hidden pockets inside the robes where you can easily hide documents and/or small weapons without being noticed.
Weapon(s):
When in casual wear, Guo Huai always keeps a pair of Stud Poi with him. Whilst these are definitely not used in actual battle, due to the lack of defensive qualities and weak offensive capabilities, Guo Huai finds them suitable for taming the troops or to subdue rowdy officers/civilians when needed. They consist of two 2 foot lengths of strong chain attached to a small studded fist-sized ball each, with a handle at the other end of the chain to hold on to the weapon.

Guo Huai's main weapon of choice is a short-hand battle axe. He finds it particularly hard to fight with long-range blades and weapons, so rarely uses a spear or anything similiar. He instead uses a weapon that he calls ''Wind'', named after the noise it makes when swung fast. It consists of a 3 foot metal shaft with a large axe on the end. A long curved blade runs along one side, whilst there is a spear-head-esque point on the end of the top shaft, next to the curved blade. On the back is several small spikes that would only cause damage to unprotected areas of the body. The weapon is long enough to use two hands to strike, but it also can be handled with one hand, although fairly heavy. His strong muscular build makes it easier for him to handle.
Guo Huai does keep a generic spear with him during battles, but often loses it within the first few minutes of fighting. He doesn't like fighting with longer weapons as he finds it difficult to control.
History:
Guo Huai was born in the year 187 to Guo Yu, the grand administrator of Yanmen. Guo Huai's first military recognition was during the battle of Hanzhong, appointed there by Cao Cao himself after the Prime Minister wanted to test his abilities in battle. He served under Xiahou Yuans unit as a major - the second in charge of the commanders troops.
Xiahou Yuan was prepared to march, but Guo Huai fell incredibly ill and could not physically participate in the battle, instead staying at the main camp and aiding with preparations. When Xiahou Yuan was killed, Guo Huai rode out and calmed the remnants of the commanders troops, successfully pulling them out of danger by use of intelligence and bravery, fulfilling his duties as deputy despite his illness.
Whilst the battle was lost, he returned to the kingdom as a hero, impressing Cao Cao by his authority over the troops. He has since been stationed at Tianshui, to aid with the possible threat of attack from Ma Chao. He has recently been campaigning against local bandits in the area, beating them to a pulp. He is still ill, however, and has been for months since the battle of Hanzhong.
