"What a difference there can be in the talents of each person! I can never attain his level. Though I busy myself with official business all day, I still cannot attend to everything. "
- Dong Yun, after taking Fei Yi's position
Name: Fei Yi "Wenwei"
Age: 26
Gender: Male
Style: Canon
Residence: Yi Province, Jiangzhou commentary.
Personality:
At heart, Fei Yi is a humble and relaxed man. Rather than mull in overly pressing matters, he tends to take a passive approach toward solving them whenever possible. Laid-back, sometimes to a fault, Fei Yi rarely speaks in argumentative tones. He speaks poetically, sometimes cryptically, with a re-assuring tone.
The biggest strength of Fei Yi is his insight into others. He has the ability to move most others, so long as he has realized who he is speaking to first. This makes it easy for him to ease into good relations with well-known people.
This does not mean, however, that certain things do not loom over Fei Yi. Having lost his parents young, Fei Yi remains distant from most others. While he serves as a great mediator, he himself is not an accessible person. This has caused various casual relations of his to fall through.
Appearance:
(It's Sima Shi, sue me )
Fei Yi maintains a rather youthful face. He's slim in build, with most of his physical activities being some form of graceful sword play or dance. Most of the time, he can be seen wearing robes rather than armor; he has almost no threatening presence to him. These robes do, however, make him look slightly larger than he actually is.
Fei Yi is on the shorter side, at about 5'5” in height. He weighs around 135 lbs. The only other notable feature of Fei Yi are his arms, which are slightly longer than the average person (though not by much). Aesthetically, he is attractive but not overly so. His appearance as a whole is relatively humble, as his personality.
Apparel/Armour:
Battle Garb:
(And Mitsunari... hey, at least it's a character who can't be claimed? xD)
Weapon(s):
A simple Dao, decorated with a golden dragon on the blade.
History:
Born in 193, Fei Yi grew up in the Jiang Xia commentary. Both of his parents died at an early age, leading him to be raised by a man named Boren, who was a cousin of Liu Zhang. In 211, Boren was summoned to Yi Province to aid Liu Zhang. Fei Yi followed his guardian, becoming a student in Yi province. There, he became a valued scholar from a youthful age, yet his name was not known widely enough to justify his skills.
When Liu Bei entered and claimed Yi, Fei Yi remained. It was then that the men of Shu began to recognize Fei Yi on his own right. Given a post within the government of Yi, he began to make himself a local celebrity. Given the reputation of a loyal and humble man, he gained the respect of both his servants as well as his superiors.
In one such incident, Fei Yi attended the funeral of an official of Shu with his friend Dong Yun. Dong Yun asked for a carriage from his father, who gave him one in tatters. Dong Yun hesitated to enter it, but Fei Yi entered almost immediately, forcing Dong Yun to arrive in it. Worried of his reputation, Dong Yun requested an explanation from his father, when he too arrived at the funeral. Dong He, noting Fei Yi's relaxed demeanor, reprimanded his own son, calling Fei Yi a man of greater character.
