The Wu Wei Palace stands at the centre of the great state city of Wu Wei, and acts as the great monument for all of the region to see. The governor, ruler or prefect resides within the Palace quarters, and in times of diplomacy - sits at the fore of the great red carpet that stretches to the base of the throne. There he or she will greet and discuss matters of concern to their subordinates, or greet and recieve those on foreign business.
The Palace is heavily guarded.

Cao Cao's envoy finally made it to the Wu Wei palace. It had been a long trip, and the envoy had just missed being picked up by a patrol in Chang An. Had Li Jue or Guo Si's men found him, it would have been a much shorter trip...
The envoy walked towards the entrance, amazed at the different found here. The people showed signs of their barbarian heritage, and the architecture was markedly different than that found in the central plains. The envoy had not been this far west before, and he wondered if the differences ran as far as how the leaders here would accept him.
"Time to find out."
He approached the guard. "I am an envoy, representing Lord Cao Cao, on a mission to discuss with Ma Teng. Please inform your ruler that it is of the utmost importance."

Chapter 1 Desert’s Last Stallion Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing. Use the pain as fuel, as a reminder of your strength.
why?…..
Ray from the sun illuminated the entire vast of sand to vibrant amber. Wind’s so often made it’s presence across the horizons, leaving its art along the plains. The veer of the sands motioned from the draft proved to be fascinating, alluring any eyes that took a minute to embrace it. For the bronze warrior it would be contrary to anything positive. It was an angelic view for anyone else, but the atmosphere only stirred emotions within him. Mounted on his lively ivory steed, he strolled with his eyes staring off in venture for the truth behind this tug within his soul. His hazel eyes glistened from the hue given from the sun, creating a false expression of peace on his face.
He only wished it was so, but he was far from peace or affability. It was the reason why Ma Chao had taken so much mission of repelling uprising bandits recently. It became noticeable to clansmen alike, including his father…but none dared to ask. Results of ending these uprisings were analgesics to his uneasiness, but like a moth drawn to a flame it would haunt him again. Somewhere deep in his mind he knew it had to be his beliefs in justice and greater good.
I’ve followed my heart time and time again….yet its still not satisfied…why!? This is the first time my soul’s ached for something more…without showing me the way. Must I find this path on my own?
Slowly his advancement stopped and his eyes narrowed towards grizzled skeleton divulged by the winds. What little flesh it bared was turn to an almost leather like texture from heat and grinding from the weight of sand. The face of the skull was left in a petrified expression. Locking into the dark despair of where the eyes use to exist, Ma Chao began to glare at it with a sense of ambition. His question still unanswered, but his mind excused itself to serious concerns. His puzzled soul would have to wait for time where he could find the answer
”Let’s Go!!”
His horse hastened across the amber field and became like a white glow soaring through the winds. Mengqi was well known through the lands for his riding abilities, if anyone could bring out the best performance out a steed it would be him.
Kingdom of Wu Wei Upon making it inside the kingdom of his father, Ma Chao noticed an envoy in quest of entering the Liang Kingdom. Already his hand tickled for war, it was already obvious to him that this concerned making either an alliance or a request of something that would cost his father. Regardless, Mengqi wanted to be there and make sure his father actions were not fast. Approaching his quarters, Ma Chao changed from his Qiang attire into his authentic robe that consists of warm colors in complements of the deserts. With help of his maidens it wasn’t too long that he’d leave his quarters to the court halls of where his father was.
I can feel this nervousness all of a sudden….I wonder what proposal this envoy will bring
All eyes viewed Mengqi as he entered into the halls and many pondering of his whereabouts since he was out for the evening without notice. Quickly he greeted all higher superiors and titles and bowed before the very man that has trained him to become the warrior he is now. His father was well please with his skills he possessed as well a good example of prowess for his younger brothers. But even so, Ma Chao had feelings that his father would be displease with his acts of leaving without permission. Although it was a good cause, it would be consider disobedience to his Lord
”father forgive my absence, I’ve returned from my journey of thwarting a league of bandits. The leader was easily slang by my blade…I only hope these words please your ear ”

Voices. A turmoil of deep resonating sounds that filled the room merging together into a mesh of pointless words. Men sat on their chairs, comfortable and sheltered from the dangerous that were not far outside their doors. Turning deaf ears to the silent screams of mothers and children praying for their husbands and fathers to come home. The only gift in this world was power and wealth. With neither, then the greatest gift would be the peace granted after death.
Yes, in her opinion men only spoke to hear their own voices, some not understanding that each word brought upon more blood shed and death. The few that went into battle, they understood the terrors of sleeping whilst the screaming soldiers sang lullaby’s of another family’s demise.
The figure that sat above her was not one of those men. He was an honorable man who taught herself and her siblings the meaning of honor, strength, justice and fighting for the greater good. It was the only battle worth fighting and while she had to live with the nightmare that anytime her family could shatter before her eyes, it had to be done. Ma Yunlu would always look up to the man that tough her so much. He was the epitome of their family’s strength and the pillar of the greater good and justice. Turning to look around, men of young and old sat around talking about the latest politics and tactics they would present to her father. Indeed, every once in a while she would add her own logic to the mix. Not long ago, Ma Yunlu's words were listened to, but never considered. Yes, she was a woman and many thought the only reason she was here was because her father permitted it. Time and time again she had proven to be a woman of wisdom and intellect and her presence was never questioned again.
Ma Yunlu could here the chatter die down, someone unfamiliar to these lands had made his way here and everyone was silent, waiting for her father to either turn the person away or allow him entry. An envoy, it was obvious, but who would be sending one to them? Turning to look back up towards her father, she was about to suggest that she herself could go see who it was, but a voice stopped her from speaking.
Another voice, only this one she could recognize from miles away. It was the strong voice of their family's precious jewel and the sibling she had watched train and blossom into the fierce and powerful warrior he was. So many question ran through her mind, but this was an inappropriate time and so she sat there silently, watching him warmly and waiting for him to join herself and their other brothers by their fathers side.
As of late, Ma Yunlu had sensed him growing distant, even when he was physically there, he was mentally elsewhere. For the past few weeks she had been unable to talk to him, to sit down and tease the younger brother that she knew she couldn’t compare to in strength. Yes, she would tirelessly say that as the older sibling she was the strongest, but deep down inside both knew that it would be he who would be the one protecting their family’s name.
Her thoughts on the envoy had been completely erased as she carefully listened to his explanation. Was that it? She couldn’t believe that was the only reason why he had been gone. Perhaps, later she could try to have a word with him, but would he listen? Ma Yunlu prayed he would, how she missed the many ‘heated’ conversations she had with her brother.
Without a word, she looked into her brothers eyes, trying to communicate to him how much she had missed him and how she wanted to speak up, but now was not the time. Instead, she waited for her father’s response; the man had been silent up until this point. Perhaps he father had much to think about; especially with the new arrival of her little brother and the envoy not long ago. It was at that moment she remembered the envoy stationed outside the palace. Would she bring that to light, no, she needn’t not speak for now.
