Looking out upon the Changjiang was as a two bladed sword, both a mangificent site holding all hopes of the populace for the future and yet..it help the lives of those upon the delta in its grasp, neither could it be read nor tamed and the vast change in weather meant that even those who worship every ripple could become its next victim. However, once riding the waters one could easily lose their mind and remove their very being from this realm, entering heights that no one else could experience; to leave this land and take in what it could be like to live the life of peaceful security. With ever glance was another blade being raised, another war beginning and another evil being allowed to escape from the Heavens tainting eveything that it comes by. Benevolence was running thin and the truth becoming something that the people no longer understood, as of late they did not recieve the honesty that they so deserved. High officials wagged their tongues spitting the poison that was devouring the systems, ridiculling the very laws that they swear to live by and bleeding not only the people but also the land for all its worth...when would this ever stop? Could there ever be the returning of the light to this now darkening realm?..
Closing her eyes, the veiled figure allowed the winds to carry all the worries she had within her heart. The feeling of each breeze against the skin was so sublime and tempting the fiery bird to attempt at taking flight; to sore far away from this place and burn the name within each person's memory. To be a wife was indeed a celestial blessing, but when one's own recognition is turned to that of the man it is hard to remain neutral to all words...the veil of tradition that she had placed upon herself was beginning to thin and the blade in her hand so close to tearing at the material so that the world could view the truth; the truth behind a man 'so great' that no one dared to step against...and if they did, they met a most humiliating end but at whose advantage? The name of a Dragon was not solely justified this time, for the Phoenix was the source of inspiration, with a promise the ideas given..so quickly was the promise thrown to the mountains and smashed upon the rocks. With every word the body had collided with the earth, blood pouring from every created oraphice and having no signs of healing. How could a husband treat the devouted wife so? A woman whose eyes never, and couldn't, wander? To bore a child, not only a child, but a son! To remain within the household and gain the respect as a Matriarch and care for each person individually, who crossed her door. There was no denying anger was felt, but how could such a wife act against the body of her husband??...
Of course, the Sleeping Dragon was known by name to all and his feats, whether the truth or a growing fictional folk-tale, becoming common knowledge. Never heard were the compliments to a woman who had stood behind this infamous figure throughout the hardships, never wavoring and giving every piece of advice to her disposal. This was the daughter of the Official Huang Chengyan, a star so bright that it could match the strenth of the sun and challenge each Scholar to the ideals with each word a victory; however, praise had never been returned to her threshold. But if this Lady Huang had gained compliments to her door, it was for having the Heavenly 'blessing' of recieving such a 'fine husband'. Fine husband?! Such a fine husband who could not truly function without her presence! The many scrolls, strategies and inventions within her own study would prove to all that this 'Kongming' was not the greatest mind that their land offered...yet, the Lady Huang already knew that her own works would never be attributed to her, but easily placed under the name of Zhuge Liang, Kongming..her husband...
Allowing a fist to thrust the air, the wind felt the pain felt by the Lady Huang's heart; never had she felt so betrayed by someone she loved so much. When a small girl, a veil was placed around the bottom half of her face. The reasoning was to hide the blossoming beauty and allow the mind to flourish, to be accepted as a fellow scholar rather than another pretty flower that would be bartered into wifedom. Throughout Lady Huang's life the veil had never been removed, from her own mouth started the rumour of an untold ugliness..features so harsh that the Heavens cried in dispear for such horrid appearance; thus, they must appreciate the mind that would sore! Indeed it had worked, until the day after the marriage ceremony, becoming the wife of Zhuge Liang is something no normal woman could easily bear. Month after month the Lady Huang's name went into the shadows and never to return, none of her efforts seemed to bare fruit and so began the woes of her secrecy...behind the veil...behind the filial wife, the 'perfect' wife incarnate....
The Lady Huang opened her eyes, appreciating the custom of keeping one's family name after marriage..she knew that with some people the husband's name was adopted alongside the father's name. She could not bare to be refered to as Lady Zhuge Huang, it would be a constant reminder of what she could no longer have; always to be remembered as 'Zhuge Liang's wife'.. Not now, Lady Huang knew that this wind brought something new upon it. A Phoenix could feel the feathers serge with a power unknown to it and as the Dragon Slept, this chance would never come again and perhaps, finally, it was her own chance. Looking across the Changjiang once more, the heart seemed to calm and the anger resided into something enjoyable; the absence of her husband brought her some comfort..perhaps even joy. Wearing the robes set before her, the gentile nature of a mother and respect of a father; the off-white hues were adorned with embroidered flowers. The outer-coat was a contrast, as it was of a black shade and had the phoenix upon the back..especially to the taste of the Lady Huang. Her hair was placed in a large bun that hung low at the back of her head, with a small, yet thick, pontytail-esque strand of hair that pertruded from the middle of the bun; a work of art, clearly having spent a lot of time upon. Looking back at the estate, the Lady Huang observed the feelings she knew that could no longer be felt again, of the happiness that was created in such an abode given to them as a gift by her father.
The horse bestowed to her by her Aunt Cai, wife of the Lord Liu Biao, was of fine breeding and would no doubt become her companion for some time. A journey was about to start that she could not see any true ending of, it was all a mystery but all she felt was that it had to be better than the current state she found herself in now. Gliding her hand down from the mane, such a beast the Lady Huang would always feel a deep connection with; from a fowl this thoroughbred had been raised and by her own supervision. It held the key to this new life she wished to create for herself, to force the husband into the shadows and finally have her name along the winds. Belongings would be few as not to pile too much weight for the horse to burden, it would be no use to both of them if this journey was to be halted by anything...
..however, the Lady Huang seemed to linger somewhat, as if in hopes to view a visitor to the estate; perhaps her own husband to realise that such a flower was rare to come by...that it must be cherished and respected, for all that it had bestowed upon him could one day run dry and he'd be left in the turmoil of his own creation. Or even from a family member, it had been some time since she had recieved her Aunt Cai and conversed over tea. Many saw the Lady Cai as manipulative but to Lady Huang, she was the inspiration as her name was known for the accomplishments of her own making and the husband a mere side-line of happiness...oh the hopes of such a fate for her in the past, but now, it seemed too late for that to become a reality....
