Li Wang frowned as he entered the valley ; it looked all too familiar. The road, the mountains, the caves on the wall... Li Wang was experiencing an unpleasant sense of Deja Vu.
"Be careful... the bandits might be lurking in the caves. Li whispered to his squad of soldiers. They were mostly veterans by now, and indicated their assent with nods.
Dong Xiu, the squad's archer, had never missed a shot closer than 100 meters. His aim was invaluable when the squad found themselves under attack from a large group of bandits.
Mao Tie was a veteran of many battles; he'd fought on Liu Yong's side when Sun Ce invaded Jian Ye, and he'd killed twenty men before a nimble militia man managed to hit him over the head with his spear. Mao was now a devoted vassal of the Sun clan.
Kong De was a new recruit, but he wielded his pair of hatchets the way a farmer wields a scythe; second nature, powerful, and something is decapitated at every swing. Li had plans for him.
Sun Bang was Li's only concern; at 16 years old, he was at least ten years everyone else's junior, and he was panicky in the extreme. He never would have made it past militia if his father didn't happen to be Sun Ce's cousin. Still, that made Li his cousin-in-law, and he would do his best to make sure the boy survived.
You got it, cuz. Bang was apparently undisciplined, too.
Keep it down! Li hissed.
