NPC's/Factions
NPC kingdoms have been a fundamental element to a vast variety of rpg's, but...I would like to think that they have never played the roles that we will indeed have for them. On this site, NPC's will grow, fight, expand and die with the events of the playable kingdoms. In such circumstances where two npc kingdoms fight each other, the result will be based purely on the roll of a dice, odd for one side, even for the other. But that is not where their role ends.
NPC's are a fundamental element to the very story behind this RPG. Their usefulness is extraordinary. For instance, playable kingdoms can openly interact with all NPC nations. They can form alliances, declare war, seek reinforcements. Heck, it's even possible to convince one lord to attack another lord, helping you by reserving troops. But this policy works for all characters, an NPC that is your friend may very well betray you, or be swayed to the side of an opposing kingdom.
We plan to have a variety of staff members participate in this new element to the site, as we believe it will strongly encourage new rping stories and planning. A kingdom which trusts only itself will never prosper, the recluse hermit planning will never be able to take advantage of the bonuses available, and...as a special reward for certain individuals, going to the aid of a NPC or doing a story with one can result in a sudden, large reward, such as a new city, earning a fiefdom, being granted an additional army, receiving entourage units or even weapons for war. The rewards are endless, but they are not given out sparingly, they will go to those who seek out their desire to role play and enjoy the stories we will create.
Rewards
As stated above, rewards are randomly given out when stories are made and completed. Although this varied from mod to mod, a general scale has always existed when rewarding. For NPC based rewards, you'll gain far more than if you were to gain rewards purely through tasks or solo-play style. We strongly encourage interaction, not just between player to NPC, but to player to player as well. Rewards can be given in any amount of quantity, and we do not reward based solely on quality or quantity, but via willingness and commitment as well.
