By applying ink to one's brush, steadying one's hand, and applying ink to parchment, words can be written. Words with purpose, or words of thought. This was a time of purpose.
Cheng Qi rolled out a piece of parchment before him on his desk, and softened the tip of the brush in applying black ink. On orders of his new Lord, Cao Mengde, he was to write a declaration of war. This declaration marked the first step for his Lord, in his walk to conquest. Taking up his brush, Cheng put his, and his lords thoughts to paper. The document read in essence:

Troubled are the times we live in. Troubled only by the mistakes of others, these troubles can be brought back primarily to Han Huandi and Han Lingdi, who in their ill-guided states of mind granted much power to their unqualified palace attendants, powers that would sow the seeds of corruption within the heart of a Dynasty of four-hundred years of glory.
Corruption which unchecked, spread like wildfire and accompanied with unrelieved natural disasters and general sufferings of the commonfolk, only brought the disaffection of the Dynasty's people. Loyalty wavered until, seizing their chance the Zhang brothers of the Julu district, satisfied the people with promises of redemption and relief. Bringing to pass the largest revolt led by the common folk in our country's history, the Yellow Turban Rebellion of 184.
The Rebellion may have been crushed, but it's actions gave raise to those with ambition, and those who would seek to take advantage of the troubles of their state. Here rose Dong Zhongying, a General in control of the remote western borders, who had no merit within the confines of court. Dong's rise can be brought upon the late-Regent He Suigao who brought the man into the capital to slay the eunuchs. The same eunuchs who collaborated with the Yellow Turbans and aided their revolt of the masses. Dong Zhongying took control of the court seizing a rare opportunity to take power over the empire and over the Imperial succession, by desposing and assassinating our young Emperor.
Dong Zhongying's actions would not go unnoticed as the warlords of various commanderies around our empire, would rise and challenge him, to bring him to justice. The action failed and Dong was installed as a power in the realm for many a year until his own foster son Lu Fengxian evetually turned on, and slew the traitor. Who would have forseen after so much suffering to the Dynasty that still their would be so much more misfortune? Lu was drove out of the capital by the Dong's treacherous Generals Li and Guo, who killed Minister Wang Zishi and abducted the reigning Emperor. Bringing about our present crisis.
Lord Cao Mengde, who attempted to assassinate the traitor Dong, called up a righteous host to overthrow the tyrant, and plotted his downfall; has the Dynasty's dwindiling light ever foremost in his thoughts. So Lord Cao hereby declares that in order to satisfy the indignation of the realm, is morally obliged to take up righteous arms once again, this time against the tyrant's commanders in rebellion, traitors Li and Guo. Our armed forces shall march west of passes with the blessings of our Dynasty's founders and with the hearts of it's people. Our spears will pierce the clouds with truth, our shields will maintain the bounds of justice, and our banners will darken the skies with the shadow of vengeance, as we march with the intent to deliver our sovereign from his suffering and free his sage-self from the cage in place by the traitors and avenge the wrongs our country has suffered over the years from Dong's rebel faction.
Let no loyal warrior under the blessing and favour of the Dynasty hinder our cause and incur the wrath of heaven. Let this proclaimation under orders of Lord Cao, circulate the realm and put all loyal hearts and minds to rest.
