Xu Shu himself is a cheerful, kind and happy man yet naive and childish at times, despite being trained by the likes of Sima Hui and other renown strategists. Xu Shu enjoys seeing the people happy, as such he often offered his services to peasants free of charge however lacked the traits required to be a leader, he was never able to lead but was able to follow easily. Xu Shu dislikes cruelty and the slaughter of the innocent when it comes to battle and uniting the land, he himself believes that having patience and being benevolent towards the people will bring peace, despite how long it will take; and the troubles such a path will bring.
Xu Shu is an ametuer tactician compared to the likes of Zhuge Liang and Gou Jia, however he does know a few things and has a few tricks up his sleeve. Xu Shu also believes that detaching himself from the likes of personal attachment is the best course of action, he hopes to avoid gaining close bonds and love, as he believes that these will be an hindrance and will bring pain to him in the future, if any were lost, this is due to the mindset of not being controlled by passion nor emotion and that every action must be carried out with a cool, calm head.
Appearance:
Xu Shu stands around 5"11, slightly toned and muscled. Has a bright, cute smile which brightens up situations once mixed with his handsome looks, he becomes quite unresistable. Xu Shu keeps his hair short, believing that long hair could prove troublesome and annoying to keep tidy and clean. His eyes being a dark green with a tanned skin tone. Shu's tone of voice is often calm and cool, hardly ever raising his tone of voice to one which could be aggressive.
Apparel/Armour:
Battle - Green light, silk robes with padded leather beneath, a chinese dragon is often on the back of the armour and clothing.
Court - Free flowing green silk robes with the chinese dragon on the back, also wears a cuboid styled hat during court meetings.
Weapon(s): A standard military sword.
History:
Xu Shu (styled Yuanzhi) was from Yingchuan, a district noted for its talented scholars. His father died when he was young, leaving him and his younger brother Xu Kang to be raised by their mother. He was an expert swordsman, and killed a man to avenge an injustice near the end of Emperor Ling’s reign (AD 168-189). When he was arrested, he refused to identify himself, so the authorities paraded him around the market on a cart hoping that someone would know him. No one betrayed his name, even though some people recognized him. Instead, some of his friends set him free. He went into hiding and assumed the name Shan Fu.
After his escape, he devoted himself to the life of a scholar, and studied under many masters. Before long, he travelled to Jingzhou where he came under the tutelage of Sima Hui. He also befriended Cui Zhouping, Meng Gongwei, Pang Degong, Pang Tong, Shi Guangyuan, and Zhuge Liang, with whom he studied spiritual refinement. Eventually, he sought employment with the Protector of Jingzhou, Liu Biao, who was also a scholar and had a reputation for favouring learned men. After serving him as an adviser for a brief time, Xu Shu became aware of the Protector’s inadequacies, and left a letter explaining his departure..

Xu Shu would later find himself wandering the lands after leaving the service of Liu Biao. Xu Shu himself, would come to hear of Liu Bei, the relative of Liu Biao whom gave Liu Bei the duty of being the prefect of Xin Ye. Xu Shu came about this news from his former mentor; Sima Hui. Xu Shu had gained news of Liu Bei being a benevolent leader, this was pleasing news to Xu Shu, who was searching out a man who would be worthy of serving. Xu Shu began his journey to Xin Ye in search of this benevolent man.
