"A man of hidden meanings, facades and deceit, the man is a human enigma, yet gains the undying trust of so many. Only the gods are capable of such acts beyond he." - Rumoured to be said by a Wu minister

Residence: Cheng Du Rank: Grand Counselor Title: N/A
Personality
Zhuge Liang is a complex character, broken down into roughly two halves. The first half can be associated with his line of work, it involves a sort of calm, a thoughtful and appreciative nature that shows his confidence in himself and others around him. Rarely does he show the true stress his job entails and on those rare occasions it is only his most trusted of confidants that he would show his momentary weakness to.
The second half of Kongming can be associated or called the real him. Like any human being he is not perfect and his flaws, whilst masked when with others come out elsewhere. Self centered, power hungry and opportunistic are the key ingredients to his actual success. In such a form those attributes sound chaotic, much like Dong Zhuo or Lu Bu, but there comes the wisdom of the man that brings about the fine balance he has about him. Indeed he is also friendly, supportive and understanding, but beyond that he wants victory and for his lord to have the land to call his own.
Zhuge Liang wants a noble deed done, for the world to find peace, but with that he wants his name to be known forever past that date, for the name Kongming to be heard and spoken for centuries afterwards.

Finely trimmed is his beard, if ever present and his hair is either well groomed, or enhanced with the finest of headpieces. His robes hide his finely toned body, eluding to a hidden potential within the man few would suspect from a 'mere strategist.'

History
Zhuge Liang had a humble upbringing within Jing. It was not until he began learning the art of war that he began to prosper into what he would later become. At the suggestion of his closest friend, Zhuge Liang decided to enhance his knowledge even more and took up lessons under the guidance and teachings of Sima Hui, a time in his life with which he met the also later famous Pang Tong and Xu Shu.
The three later members of Liu Bei's force all impressed over all other students, giving rise to their abilities, Liang considered to be the shining star of all three. It was years until the lessons finished and without a leader with the right abilities in his opinion, Zhuge Liang returned to his humble upbringings in Jing, not knowing of the rising star Liu Bei's potential.
News reached Liang's ears one day on his family's farm about Xu Shu's entry into Liu Bei's forces, but still the sleeping dragon did not find the correct inspiration to follow suit and he continued on his way. One day however a personal visit from Liu Bei was met with a lacklustre Zhuge Liang, who proceeded to reject the offer of employment with modesty. A second visit ensued and again Zhuge Liang denied his need to embark on a political journey, even going as far as to give mention to the great mind of Pang Tong during the conversation, but still Xuande seemed to want the Dragon, but Kongming seemed adamant in his position.
A third visit occured not many days later and a confused Dragon enquired about Liu Bei's true visions for the land. The two spoke for over an hour, laughed and found a mutual interest. Finding many more answers that time around, Liu Xuande was given details on how he should proceed and asked once more to be in his forces, finally Zhuge Liang accepted.
Zhuge Liang's first envolvement with Liu Bei's army came in Xin Ye, the humble small city that was the first bastion of defence against an expanding Cao Cao. Zhang Xiu the prefect of the city was soon to be crushed by the forces of Mengde and Kongming was too late in his plans to get a force large enough to send north in aid. Turning his eyes towards that large force it was up to Liang to stem the flow of troops soon to embark on Xin Ye.
The forward armies of Cao Cao were met with light but potent resistance from Liu Bei's forces and with major losses prominent in their ranks, the Wei forces retreated back to Wan to regroup. Zhuge Liang's tactics on the battlefield proved a major turning point for Liu Bei who only had Xin Ye and Yong An to call his own. With Cao Cao occupied with other diplomatic and military issues, Liu Bei also gained the opening he needed to expand his own land westward and again Zhuge Liang played a part later on in the campaign when his assistance was called upon.
His actions brought about major promotions in his rank and he was hailed as a genius with no rival, yet Kongming was not content with their position and he further reinforced his eventual Three Kingdoms strategy. To gain a real foothold on the land another member of the Liu clan would need to be removed and Jing under Shu's control...
