And then suddenly all those men at Xin Ye were imposters and they're all actually at Yong An.

The staff seems to be insisting on carrying on with the battle. I have no particular objections to proceeding at Wang Ji Xiang, but would Yong An be a valid attack? I thought all invasions, including surprise attacks, went through a staff member to be set up.
Over all... What do we do now. >_>

I'm not going to be petty about this, I at least told Mikey about it beforehand so I'm not in the wrong here. I'm not making it worse by moving on Yong'an either, it would be a bad move anyway in the long run. Keep to the plan you two. Just don't be afraid to smash the shit out of them if it does go wrong.

Well, who would have thought that villagers who more or less served Wei for over 10 years are immediately faithful to Liu Bei after being conquered by him... besides, weren't they unarmed and unarmored and would not fight unless occupied by a Shu garrison? At least it says so in the first post.
I think we'll win anyway, just a change in plans.

I've shot Justin a PM, hopefully it'll make him change the result. Even slightly. Such determined resistance after living under a lord for less than six months is crazy loyal.

Thanks Sam. It's not that this was a game-breaking move, it's just that it's a wasted turn (with a 10 turns deadline) and the fact that we'll get spotted in the next round because of a Cavalry unit popping out of nowhere.
It's good that the clouds are coming though, covering Niu Jin's advance on the forest just next to the fortress. We'll get them...
I'm planning to capture Zhuge Liang and Pang Tong... is this realistic in this situation? I mean, the fortress only has one gate towards the north (where my main army's going to attack) and Xiahou Dun covers the South. I want to make quick work of the soldiers on the walls and occupy them myself via ladders. This should destroy any option of fleeing.

Why not burn the fortress? if there is one exit just pill your force outside that gate and launch flaming arrows. They will have to fight through your entire unit to get out.

Apparently Liu Bei is a god and his virtue has swayed the population that quick to be against us. The stealth aspect is gone for you Ren. Just massacre whatever gets near you now and try and seize the fortress. Speed is essential.
And yes, it'll be fantastic if you can capture Zhuge and Pang.
We can't use fire Jack, without prior planning. You need the Pyros entourage to suddenly incorporate a fire attack.

Okay. But thanks for trying.
Any idea of what we could do if the ladders are somehow destroyed? I haven't brought any more siege equipment with me. This is a possibility with the storm coming from the West. I'm expecting them to wall themselves in. They can't really do anything against our forces.

Happy birthday btw dude (just noticed)
The guards at most, in my estimation could knock the ladders down. It's why speed is essential, you chose not to take Onagers that I made available to you. There is very little guards in this skirmish, you just need to overwhelm them quickly.
Your only problem as I see it is the Onagers they have set up in the fort. You simply need to get so close, and fast, disable those and rush over the fort.
Now that you have gave away your presence, have Niu Jin move forward and sack the forward camp. Overwhelm that fort quickly, you outnumber them 10:1

Now that you have gave away your presence, have Niu Jin move forward and sack the forward camp. Overwhelm that fort quickly, you outnumber them 10:1 Well, my plan actually was to take the camp with Yu Jin this turn and let Niu Jin advance at the riverside. During the fighting in the camp, Cao Ren would attack with the main army, using Horsebowmen and archers as distractions. Niu Jin, who should be covered by the clouds now, would advance from the grassland to the fortress in the next round (infantry will move 4 hexes per turn, so I should get there without having to stop near the fort, exposing myself to the onagers) and take over the walls. That's why I have put the majority of ladders, swordsmen and archers with Niu Jin. From then, we should be able to take out the onagers (Niu Jin will take care of that) and as soon as we have the western and northern walls under our control, I'll open the gates and conquer these imbeciles! My swordsmen should take care of their bowmen. And thanks.

Do whatever you can to overwhelm the fort and seize it. We won't be pressing any further for Xinye, win this little skirmish and then pull out. We need to end these wars fast so we can rebuild.

As long as its only your personal army, I don't have any problem with that. The wretch can drown, save himself the embarrassment, that is his life.
